Maderas Golf Club

Had a great experience at Maderas, Staff was awesome, great course and location. Greens were in great shape however the fairways sloped and with the short dry grass made it very difficult to keep ball on the fairway (that buy the way was my only complaint). The bunkers were deep and very soft sand and had a great feel (I should know I was in them most of the morning). Played with a couple members that were super nice and shared their knowledge of the course so that really helped.

Beautiful layout with elevated tee boxes over canyons, huge undulations, quick greens, and fantastic amenities. It’s expensive, but worth every penny.

Great Course. Challenging but enjoyable layout. If you can hit straight shots you will love it. Bring extra balls if not. Very helpful and courteous staff.

Love this place. What's not to love. Great course, great staff, great layout. If your drive hits the fairway it'll roll a long way, too.

This course provides golfers of all skill levels an opportunity to be challenged and have fun playing golf. Its not the longest course, but the elevation changes and undulations provide plenty of challenge to the lower handicap players. The shorter layout provides great playability for the higher handicap players (although some of the carries can be intimidating for shorter hitters). It has nice mix of narrow, tree-lined holes and open, almost desert-style holes. There are also some fantastic views from the higher elevated spots on the course, as well as beautiful homes that give this course a great aesthetic. Have played it now three different times and have paid three different rates, so keep an eye out for those bargain deals because this is a great golf course!

perfect weather, and great golf. the course was a great surprise as we had played many courses in the area but not this one. dont miss this one. the greens are the challenge, not so much the course itself.

Fast greens, clean (very low cut fairways and "rough"), fun elevation changes, slopes on greens and some big carrys (if you can really drive it). Course management makes sense bufrom blues I had no problem taking driver on every hole but two used 3 wood.. very fun and has a private country club feel. Practice area is off grass, bunkers, chipping, everything you expect a nice course to have. Definitely glad i played here

A challenging golf course which will require good technique around the grtens as well as a very good putter.Golf course is in very good shape...gteens are in excellent shape.

The staff was awesome from the get go and they made sure the round was an enjoyable experience. The course featured good variety in hole types and was fun to play. Definitely recommend.

Course is really nice. Played it twice in last two weeks. Caught a 60.00 deal due to arification and loved it. Lots of elevation changes, greens were undulated but fair. Rolled at about a 9.5 so arification was virtually transparent. I play too much to pay the normal 180 or so tee time so glad i got this one off my bucket list. Highly recommended for all levels. Catch a mid afternoon deal and try it out. Every hole is a challenge. Lovely lovely place to play.

I got to play the scores from the Tips and it really challenge me. If you’re looking to shoot lower scores stay away from the black tees. They aerated the greens but they were still puttable. The course was in great shape and the staff was awesome! I played the round in less than 4 hours. I’ll definitely come back!

The clubhouse is beautiful and the staff was great. The course was in pretty good condition, although dry, but everything is dry and brown around here now. Course was in pretty good shape. My problem with it is that the course is very, very, very undulating. That combined with the hard dry conditions made it very fast. For some reason all the rough was mown down to fairway height, so you could hit a good drive and it would run and run and end up in a canyon, list and OB. The greens are just missing the windmill and the clown. Really frustrating day. I got paired up with a couple guys and they said the same thing, unfair and frustrating. Too bad because this place is beautiful. If it was greener and slower and there was rough, it might be fun even with the crazy greens. Staff was excellent, btw

Challenging course. Great staff and very difficult to manage and keep pace of play when the 90 degree rule is intact. Elevated tees on the back nine will make your heart beat fast! Course is memorable and fun!

We always try a new course when we come to San Diego and this year it was Maderas. We found a hot deal on Golfnow which made it more affordable. The course, staff and amenities were top notch. I bet it is even nicer come spring.

If you like to play a well maintained and challenging course that requires good course management. I highly recommend Maderas golf course.

I loved this golf course. The layout was great and nice selection of holes winding through the valley. Some very dramatic views on some of the higher placed holes. We had an hour frost delay but didn't impact the condition of the course. The greens were fast, true and held the ball nicely. I would certainly play this course again.

Enjoyed the challenge of the golf course with the numerous hazards, undulating greens, and elevation changes. Some holes it is critical to know aiming point and yardages, otherwise you may end up bounding off the fairway and possibly into a hazard. Greens/tee boxes were in very good shape. Fairways in pretty good shape. I thought the Greens Fee was reasonable, but the club rental exorbitant at $75. Most autos I rent have a lesser daily rate.

I appreciated the extra roll in the fairways, but the greens were also smoking fast. I hit a 35 yard lob wedge to the center of the green and end up rolling into a hazard.

The course is awesome . Frost in recent weeks had all of the Bermuda dormant . It’s almost play one time. Not a course for somebody who has a high double digit handicap green complexes are fast and hard fairways are hard.
