About
Set in the heart of the Grand Strand's Lowcountry plantation area, Indigo Creek is laid out through large oaks and flowing creeks, especially the back nine, though the views have been somewhat spoiled by housing. The course is built over an old rice and indigo plantation with some nice elevation changes, lakes, waste bunkers and undulating greens. It's a Willard Byrd design, with Bermuda greens and a slope rating of 128.
Indigo Creek is another of those Myrtle Beach-area courses that fell into a disreputable state only to be saved by a new ownership group. One golfer who'd had a bad experience there described it after the refurbishment as the best-conditioned course in Myrtle Beach.
Indigo Creek isn't overly long at 6,744 yards (the shortest of its four sets of tees shortens to 5,921. It is an exciting course with an significant number of doglegs, bunkers and water. The back nine is set among giant oaks and gently flowing creeks.

fair
starter was excellent. played as a single at 1 pm. he started me on hole 10 because he thought it would be quicker. played the back 9 in 2 hours when I got to the first tee there wasn't anyone there. played the front 9 in 45 minutes. the layout is fine when played from the proper tee blocks. the greens were on the slow side. some of them shabby with bare spots. but with a hot deal price everything was a fair deal.

Okay golf
Lots of water and dog legs. Weeds in the fairways and a couple of rough greens. Glad we didn't pay full price. We used a GolfNow deal so the price was about right at $35+ each.

Good value - decent conditions
Would play it again but only if the price was in the $45 range - course was in decent shape - don’t expect country club conditions- several greens had dried up areas and fairways were a bit wet here and there but condition of fairways for the most part were fine - main complaint was too many singles and twosomes - they should be pairing more people up together - as a foursome we let about 4 to 5 twosomes and singles play thru - very disruptive to pace of play and we shouldn’t be penalized for course’s failure to put more group together

Good location
Some greens were in bad shape, crab grass in some of fareway

Good place
The greens are a bit rough and our cart broke down at hole 15, but they brought us a new one pretty quickly.

Poor condition
Greens, bunkers and fairways need a lot of work. Most of the greens have a lot of burnt bare areas. Definitely needs a lot of good maintenance.

In poor condition
Play another course. Needs important at this time. Green are as little burned from the summer. Give it some time for them to get the course back in condition.

Rough around edges
You get what you pay for. This is a cheaper course that was fairly crowded and rather worn. Decent enough, but not stunning in any way.

Best value for the money
I doubt if you can find many other courses in the Grand Strand that can give you the value this course can for the money you spend. Some of their bunkers need a bit of work but the greens roll true without many undulations except on two holes.
The staff is the friendliest around and pace of play is usually not a problem.

Day after
The course was wet from the heavy rains the day before. Some traps were small ponds. People were friendly and very helpful. Even after a heavy rain I would come back.
