About
Set in the heart of the Grand Strand's Lowcountry plantation area, Indigo Creek is laid out through large oaks and flowing creeks, especially the back nine, though the views have been somewhat spoiled by housing. The course is built over an old rice and indigo plantation with some nice elevation changes, lakes, waste bunkers and undulating greens. It's a Willard Byrd design, with Bermuda greens and a slope rating of 128.
Indigo Creek is another of those Myrtle Beach-area courses that fell into a disreputable state only to be saved by a new ownership group. One golfer who'd had a bad experience there described it after the refurbishment as the best-conditioned course in Myrtle Beach.
Indigo Creek isn't overly long at 6,744 yards (the shortest of its four sets of tees shortens to 5,921. It is an exciting course with an significant number of doglegs, bunkers and water. The back nine is set among giant oaks and gently flowing creeks.

Course Needs Work
We had to pick up our own range balls because their machine was broken and the starter didn't want to help. The greens had numerous burnt up or diseased spots in them. The layout is not bad, but you get what you pay for, so the $26 price was about what it was worth. Fortunately our group consisted of mostly beginners, so it wasn't like they really know the difference.

Great course
Once they get the problem with the greens straighten out this course will be top notch. I would definitely play there again. And will the next time I’m in town.

Rough
The greens were mostly sands and not much green, pace was very slow. Couldn't finish, it was that bad

A challenge every time I play
Course was wet. Greens are in bad condition due lack of good rain.

Had fun, but greens were in rough condition
I’m not a serious golfer, but if you are I think the condition of the greens would be bothersome. Still had fun. Narrow fairways. Lots of water hazards. I enjoyed myself.

Course Review

The course itself:
Worst greens I have ever played on and putting is impossible here due to all of the divots/sand. Zero putts will roll in the direction you’re hitting to due to all of the bumps/uneven surface.
Course needs a lot of work and would probably take a crew of 20-30 guys plus heavy equipment a solid 4-6 weeks of work nonstop to redo every green and fairway. (Not having rain doesn’t help)
Thank you to the great staff. Please know this review has nothing to do with you. Getting this course back to playable conditions will take a lot of work and personnel.

Terrible
Terrible greens and pace of play was extremely slow. Majority of greens were sand and fairways were hard. Need to shut this place down worse golf course I have played at the beach. They also had a members tournament going on and told us to start off 10. No problem except when we made the turn there was people starting off on 1. We usually play within 3 hours and it took us 4 1/2 hours to play 15 holes, we skipped the last 3 holes because it was so frustrating and greens were getting worse.

True class acts
First and foremost, the owner Chuck and staff are hands down phenomenal. I've played the course before where conditions were excellent, with the drought of rain for almost two months and their irrigation system failing. Chuck, instead of crawling into a ball and just letting individuals play his course with no regard, remained poised and composed and delivered above and beyond service. Handling fees, carts, and food to the customers speak volumes to the organization. I can't wait to visit again and play. I'd recommend anyone to stop over and play a round and you'll be deeply surprised.

Played here due to Golfnow price
Had an enjoyable day today. Pace of play was good Fairways were decent but most of the greens were in very poor shape. Course suited our play as we are around a 25 handicap but a decent golfer would probably not enjoy this course.

The greens are the worst I have ever played. Layout is great but fairways are awful. Needs a ton of work.

Poor condition
The greens are in terrible condition. Seems to have some sort of disease. The course just feels neglected. Staff is friendly.

Birthday present to myself
My birthday is 5/14, but I finished grading papers for a course I teach online Thursday morning. Wed night I booked 18 holes at Indigo Creek.
The course was a little rough, but I don't mind that - more like what the Scots originally played on. Some greens were a little worn. I played the back nine first with two club members/residents. We were of similar skill or lack of, so it was good. There are some tight fairways for a slicer like me and lots of water. I got good use of my new 16 foot ball retriever, sometimes retrieving the same ball more than once!. I'll be back!

Nice layout to the course but greens were not in good shape, there were alot of patches and burns on the greens.
