About
Set in the heart of the Grand Strand's Lowcountry plantation area, Indigo Creek is laid out through large oaks and flowing creeks, especially the back nine, though the views have been somewhat spoiled by housing. The course is built over an old rice and indigo plantation with some nice elevation changes, lakes, waste bunkers and undulating greens. It's a Willard Byrd design, with Bermuda greens and a slope rating of 128.
Indigo Creek is another of those Myrtle Beach-area courses that fell into a disreputable state only to be saved by a new ownership group. One golfer who'd had a bad experience there described it after the refurbishment as the best-conditioned course in Myrtle Beach.
Indigo Creek isn't overly long at 6,744 yards (the shortest of its four sets of tees shortens to 5,921. It is an exciting course with an significant number of doglegs, bunkers and water. The back nine is set among giant oaks and gently flowing creeks.

Terrible conditions
I came to Myrtle beach for 2 weeks and played 7 courses while I was here and this course was by far my worst to play. The greens are in horrible condition and a lot of bare spots on the course.

The course layout is OK
Course is generally good except for the bunkers & the greens

Not bad.
Price was good. Course was maybe a 6 out of 10. My only complaint was that the greens were very dry with burnt spots, but that could be the time of year that I played. Staff was friendly and pace was very good.

Good Day
The greens were horrible...about a 50/50 dirt and grass. The rest of the course was good. Overall I had a good day playing golf.

Family Day
Took my beautiful wife, brother and grandson to play around of golf. When we arrived, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The course was challenging and a pleasure to play. The pace of at was slow but that was just the players in front. They were having fun. It was not a big problem as we had places to sit and things to look at on the course. We will be back. A great day with the family

Horrible greens
Greens are some of the worst I’ve ever seen. Fairways are decent and staff is friendly. But for the price you get what you pay for I guess. Not a high level course in terms of green condition.

Don't waste your money
The greens were horrible. Some of the worst I've ever played. Tee boxes were almost as bad as the greens. Got behind a forsome of teenagers who were sharing clubs and would not let us through.

Monday morning golfing
Meet 2 people for a nice morning of golfing, enjoyed the round but the greens were slow and had lots of patches were the fungus ate away at the grass.. All and all a nice Day of golfing.

Course Needs Work
We had to pick up our own range balls because their machine was broken and the starter didn't want to help. The greens had numerous burnt up or diseased spots in them. The layout is not bad, but you get what you pay for, so the $26 price was about what it was worth. Fortunately our group consisted of mostly beginners, so it wasn't like they really know the difference.

Great course
Once they get the problem with the greens straighten out this course will be top notch. I would definitely play there again. And will the next time I’m in town.

Rough
The greens were mostly sands and not much green, pace was very slow. Couldn't finish, it was that bad
Thanks for informing your fellow golfers. It helps a lot. I'm coming down on a trip next week. Any idea of maybe the top 3 courses that are in good shape right now or the worst 3 that are unexpectedly in bad shape right now?
A challenge every time I play
Course was wet. Greens are in bad condition due lack of good rain.

Had fun, but greens were in rough condition
I’m not a serious golfer, but if you are I think the condition of the greens would be bothersome. Still had fun. Narrow fairways. Lots of water hazards. I enjoyed myself.

Course Review
Thank you to the staff who were amazing!
The course itself:
Worst greens I have ever played on and putting is impossible here due to all of the divots/sand. Zero putts will roll in the direction you’re hitting to due to all of the bumps/uneven surface.
Course needs a lot of work and would probably take a crew of 20-30 guys plus heavy equipment a solid 4-6 weeks of work nonstop to redo every green and fairway. (Not having rain doesn’t help)
Thank you to the great staff. Please know this review has nothing to do with you. Getting this course back to playable conditions will take a lot of work and personnel.
