The reason I play better courses and more expensive is for the pace of play, unfortunately today it took a over 5 hours, they don’t have a cart girl either but I think I know why, so I went to but a six pack of dementia beer and the total for a six pack was $60 this is insane, I have played at way better courses like Monarch beach golf course which is like $250 per round but the beer doesn’t cost $10 dollars a pop, anyways very disappointed at the whole experience, don’t think I will be going back there again

A little to expensive for what you get, I have played monarch in new port but you get what you pay for, I decided to get a six pack of bear and the bill was $65, that is stupid too much for a regular six pack that’s $10 per bear and not even imported beer costs that much, anyways 5 hours later we finished , won’t be back, sorry but we have better courses in OC for less

I did not pay for this round but when I discovered what my host actually paid I was really disgusted. My second time playing Angeles National. Impossible conditions unless you are a pro - wasn't even remotely enjoyable for either of us. Save your money and just go to a Top Golf to hurt your hands/fingers and shoulders. You play off rock hard concrete fairways the entire round with extremely short grass - no air under your ball. If you don't strike your ball perfectly off your always impossible tight lie....forget hitting a decent one. Unless you've played this course several times to learn and really know the contours of each the fairways/how the ball bounds off your tee shots you end up in one of the always looming penalty areas. Hit one right down the middle straight as an arrow on the back nine....and still ended up lost in the desert right. The greens do putt true and fast....3 or 4 pin positions...if you ended up on the wrong side of them - unfair even for advanced players. Can't hit high spinning iron shots - forget getting close to front flag positions....the greens don't hold or even leave a mark to repair. Sand traps inconsistent at best. Angeles does have a fun interesting routing.....unfortunately it's not a track that any first time normal weekend warrior could actually play well....and enjoy their round for a few minutes. Too taxing too exact. It's a shame there are so few options to play around or near Los Angeles proper.....this course isn't worth more than $75 bucks any day of the week...current conditions....if they get rid of the concrete then maybe $100 because it's SoCal......but they still get people to pay far more than that unfortunately due the lack of choice of venue/tee times. I love golf but not for these types of conditions or cost. No starter even on a busy weekend morning. We had to suss out/argue with the rest of the folks all lined up (several arrived late for their tee times even with light Covid traffic) when we could tee off. Just drive out further (played in Riverside the day previous and it was awesome) or just don't play at all....go to the store buy some Tri tip to grill for dinner and enjoy a really high end bottle of cab instead. It'll still be cheaper - your body & brain will thank me later.

My car is break down at hole 15th I called clubhouse,I waited about 50mins in the course, no body come to help me at all , I walked back to clubhouse, the clubhouse was empty, not body works at that time .

Beautiful course layout, very challenging and unforgiving on some holes/greens. Most fairways very tight and dry, especially on front, back not as bad.on back.. Greens good conditions, rolled fast, true, but pin placement was brutal today. Bunkers was a mix of conditions some good and hard. Pace of play was ok. Best to get a deal with the course in the current condition not worth full fees now.

Played ANGC today with a early morning tee off time. The course was in good condition and appears to have greened up from winter conditions. Rated a 4.5 out of 5. I note the following:

Tee Boxes: Level and lush, no damage

Fairways: Greening up and tight, no damage

Greens: Greening up and fast, no damage

Sand: Well maintained and soft

Rough and Waste Areas: Well maintained and defined

Driving Range: Off grass and in good condition

The course is a desert layout that requires reasonable control off the tee and into greens. Greens roll very fast but hold good shots. ANGC is an excellent layout that can be enjoyed by any decent golfer. I recommend this course, especially if a discounted rate is found.

On a side note, restaurant is not open, but the snack shack does offer limited food, snacks, and drinks.

The only negative was the service received by the desk starter, he was not polite or customer service orientated. Surprising that a nice course like this does not have better service. But nonetheless, the course is great and worth the experience.

This course is in pretty bad shape. It’s almost completely dried up. Whole course is in desperate need of water. We’d play here often and the restaurant/snack area is often closed without warning really makes it a hit or miss.

For the price you are paying you’d think things would be better.

Pump on those cart brakes and let the momentum carry you as fast and as far away as possible. Not even close for what they're asking for to play here at this...."twack".

Dry and irritable one can only imagine how thirsty she must be. Greens morph into fairways anything 120 and out and vice versa. Laziness definitely is not masked by the outrageous green fees. Super snoopy staff and guests which also is not masked by the fact that not one of them can swing a stick let alone a golf club. I can go on but I'm just wanting to find a decent course to tear up

Great Course if you can get a deal on Golf Now or Tee Off. Not really worth "rack rates" But it is well kept although every lie on the fairway etc is very tight as there is not enough water being put on the grass therefore the grass doesn't grow! Dry Dry Dry, they should invest in a recycled water plan!

Great course design and in pretty good shape but for $170 price, service very poor. No food or drink at the turn because they said their guys was “on a break” but he wasn’t there when we tee’d off either so interesting schedule on a busy Saturday to say the least. They took our order and said would bring it out and didn’t get anything for over 90minutes on hole 15!! Poor form and no discount or apology.

whatever you do - do NOT fall victim to the $170 (you read that right, one hundred and seventy) dollar fee to play this joke of a course. Just read all the other abhorrent reviews - there’s no organization, ZERO amenities, terrible conditions, dried out and horrendously cared for fairways and greens - no one is exaggerating, it’s as bad as they’re saying. If it was $50, I’d maybe consider it. There’s a reason there aren’t always tee times - it’s a total ripoff and it sucks. Have NO idea how they have yet to make any changes - most poorly run course in So Cal - dont even think about it, you’re a total sucker if you pay those rates to play here.

Had a very enjoyable round of golf this morning, but got stuck behind a few slow four balls.
