About
Angeles National Golf Club is the only Nicklaus Design course in Los Angeles County. It is tucked away in the Angeles National Forest. This championship course is known for being one of the area's most challenging with tough greens that are lightning fast and more than 50 strategically placed bunkers. There are also two lakes and a creek that come into play. Golfers should be prepared for long par 4s and demanding carries over ravines and barrancas. Not only is it a golf course that requires length, you'll also need accuracy. Angeles National Golf Club finishes with a par 4 that plays from an elevated tee alongside the rushing creek that edges the left of the fairway and to the right of the landing area there's a deep bunker. To the right, the green is bordered by deep grass hollows and bunkers and there is a lake to the left.

I got what I paid for.
The course was great. The fairways were like driving range mats and the rough was burnt out. The greens roll true and you'll need to read them to putt well. The speed of play was great. I didn't have to wait for anybody. The hotdogs at the turn are awesome! hahaha I'll be back.

Recommend
I've played this course a handful of times. I recommend playing on a weekday, or during non-peek hours. I played on a Tuesday morning and was able to play the round in about 3 hours. I've also played during peek hours on the weekend and the pace of play was miserable. When it is windy, distances can be very difficult to measure. The greens are very well maintained and challenging. The course requires target golf and accuracy. Par is a good score on many holes and you definitely want to capitalize on the reachable par 5's and short par 3's. I will book another round at Angeles soon!

Could be great.
Course had a nice layout but wasn’t in the best of shape. Winter both sure, but it was like concrete and there isn’t any rough to hold a ball inbounds. All that being said if they didn’t charge peak rate for a mid day tee time on winter conditions I’d be less upset. $160 for a round is way too high for the conditions right now. I understand it’s busy and courses need to turn a profit but come one.

Not as advertised
Each fee said cart included, yet when we arrived they made us share carts. During covid no less. That is not ‘cart included’. I would like an adjustment in my fee.

Great public course
Fun layout. No tricks. Cart digital map tells you what you need to know. Greens are nice, but quick and maybe too undulating for me. Tough to get close and lots of 3 putts or roll off greens made it tough to score for me.

Course isn’t worth the Rate
$100.00+ to play this course isn’t worth me coming back. Especially during the Pandemic. Y’all should be ashamed charging over $100.00.
Greens were in great shape though.

Course was in poor shape. People dont fix their ball marks on greens, Hole 1 and 10 have the worse fairways. This course used to be prime. No cart girl, since it was 80 degrees I wanted a beverage on the course, but nothing in sight. The greens are ok but no one fixes their ball marks as I mentioned. The only thing that thi course does have better than any other course I have played is a solid GPS. Distance was spot on to the pins where most other courses are usually to the center or completely off.

Challenging but fun course
Greens were fast because of the dry grass conditions. Gorgeous views of the mountains and challenging layout.
All in all, had a fun time with the group we played with.
