CrossCreek Golf Club
About
Situated amidst the beauty of the Temecula Valley, CrossCreek Golf Club enjoys a peacefully secluded setting enclosed by groves of mature oak and sycamore trees. Arthur Hills designed the course, using the rolling hills to incorporate tricky blind shots to elevated greens. His design is a true test of target golf. There is plenty of variety throughout the golf course with some holes that are framed by towering treetops and other holes that are wide-open, subjecting them to the prevailing winds. You won't find too many greenside bunkers but there are many fairways bunkers. Be prepared to use every club in your bag on this golf course. One of CrossCreek Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-3 17th, which is carved into a rocky hillside. The green is similar to that of the notorious 12th hole at Augusta National, featuring a bushy creek protecting the front.

Hole #1 Photo submitted by joeskiluv31 on 12/30/2012
Good but ….
They told us about aeration ahead of time but neglected to let us know we would be playing the back 9 twice.
Other than doubling up the front 9 the course was great
Any negatives were the result of how the course chose to manage that they were aerating the greens. All courses need to do this and this was stated on the website when I made the reservation.
Aeration was not a surprise. What was a surprise was the course decided to have patrons replay the first 9 why they aerated the back 9. As a result after about 1100 in the morning people were making the turn and interweaving with new players.
The course did a poor job of limiting the slots for people starting their round and therefore the back 9 (really the front 9 holes repeated) took over three hours to play - it was a miserable pace. Waite3d one to two deep on almost every hole. This could have been avoided, but it would have hurt revenue.
Nice layout, good condition
The layout of the course is very unique around here, winding through mountains, lakes, creeks, vineyards with a few blind shot occasions. It's definitely worth trying. And the management kept the course in fairly good condition, greens are excellent and rolls true, fairways are not pristine but good enough considering the draught in CA. There are some brown spots on the fairways but overall good enough.
Tough and in good shape but to expensive
Course is in good condition and always tough and challenging. The recently have raised the price to play but the course is still the same. For 90.00 they should give you free range balls. I don’t think I will be back for that price. Also no senior discount Friday-Sunday.
Great 1st time experience
The staff was friendly the starter went out of his way to help my group of 14 golfers extremely happy with experience can't wait to go back soon.....
very slow play, overbooked? no marshall
Had to quit at 13th hole after a little over 3 hours. Waited on every shot. Group in front of us were waiting on every tee box for the group in front of them. The guy we were playing with said he plays there a lot. Its always 4 1/2 to 5 hour round. At that price and at that pace we might as well played a local public course for a cheaper price.
Slowest Pace of Play
*** Disclaimer ***
I have played this course at least 8 times in the last 6 months. I am no where near a good golfer, as my handicap with the SCGA is a 13, since the last year. I am however really good at shanking balls and business ethics.
This review is for today, and today only as it rubbed me the wrong way like PeeWee Herman would rip himself in a theatre. Every other time I have played this course it was good. Challenging, and hard because of the pin placements. But the problem was the lack of professionalism with the clubhouse/Marshall.
Never have I played a course where I have seen 17 carts stacked on one hole. This was comical until we waited 35 minutes to hit our tee shot. This was also the same hole that I called the clubhouse once I got service to get a Marshall out on the course to speed the pace of play or send us to another hole. The carts have GPS, they should’ve seen this from the screen in the club house. Once met by said Marshall, he said there was nothing he could do. Any idiot that has ever been in business and knows customer loyalty knows this is the absolutely a fallacy. 17 carts, 34 golfers and this is the answer they receive on a Sunday at 11:00 after paying $89.00.
***Recommendation***
I will never identify a problem with a business without providing a solution, that’s irrational and doesn’t provide them an answer based off the bias we see.
1. Suggest you all read “leading loyalty” by: Sandy Rogers. This will prove that your employee’s mindset does not align with your essential success as a people business.
2. The last thing that should be vocalized is, there is nothing we can do. There is always a solution. whether it is a refund, lunch, a sleeve of balls – something to be reciprocated for the problem identified. This is simple business etiquette and how you bring back loyal customers.

Slow play
Starter was proud that they spaced their tee times out every 10 minutes but the course was backed up for our whole round. several times we came to the next hole with two groups on the tee waiting to tee off making us the third group. No sign of a ranger anywhere.Problem could have been solved by putting twosomes together as foursomes. Most groups were 2 and there was probably one slow foursome somewhere out of site that was setting the pace on the course. We like this course a lot and the layout and conditions are generally pretty good. Hard to have a nice round when you wait on every tee box and before every shot.
