Sanctuary Ridge Golf Club

Not much grass in the fairways or rough. Shots would run from the fairway into the rough and to the bottom of gullies. You need to play to the "high" side of any of the fairways to avoid getting into trouble. Greens were in good shape, putted well, and would hold an incoming shot.

For the price one of the better courses in the area. Slope should probably be higher than it is rated . We usually play here on our annual golf holiday, and once again we were not disappointed

The course layout is very interesting and requires many the use of most clubs in your bag. The conditions could be a bit better but, for the price, a real good deal. Pace was slow, about a 4 1/2 hour round. But, I was paired up with a lovely couple from Philly so all was good!

Honestly, I use to love this course. Played it on Saturday in a group outing and the greens are the worse I have played in 5 years. I specifically asked the guy in the Proshop how their greens were and he replied “they are in great shape”. If these greens were considered “great shape”, I would hate to see them when they tell you they are bad. The greens were simply fairway grass that was half way overseeeded and mowed down. (Obviously their overseeding was a waste of time and money) Being dishonest with clients, especially ones that bring you “group” outings is awful for business and reputation. The fairways were filled with bald spots and many of the old bunkers have not had any work to them in years with grass and weeds growing throughout them. I will honestly not be back to this course and the 4 larger groups I play in that have scheduled group outings here will be taking them off of our rotation in the future. SAVE YOUR MONEY, EVEN IF ITS REALLY CHEAP!

My biggest complaint was pace of play. There was a group of 8 people in front. They were playing the back tees and their averse drive was 150 yds. Painful to watch-Painful to wait for. There wasn’t a Marshall so we called the pro shop and someone came out and spoke to them. One foursome sped up but the other foursome did not. Took a little over 5 hours. Courses need to be proactive in speeding up play.

I love this course. Friendly staff and the course elevations is the best in Florida. My favorite course in Florida.

Course has hills and various lies that are all but level. Fairways need some extra grass and sandin some spots. Greens were true and in good shape but a tad slow. Nice value and staff is on the ball.

Love playing here every winter but just a little bare(lack of grass) than we remember.

Probably the most undulating course in Florida. Some great elevation changes. Useful to have played more than once as some positional play is essential.

The greens were a little slow, but it is January so what do you expect?

We had great time play the course. It's a course you had to use your head and think about the club you are going to use on most shots. Love it! The does need some work!!!

Course was extremely challenging not in really great shape but you can't believe the drops in this course play it straight or get penalized

I have played Sanctuary Ridge many times. Almost without exception, I am challenged by its speedy but true rolling greens. This time was radically different.

First, the tee boxes and fairways were sketchy with many bare patches. #11 was the worst, with the fairway near the green looking like a bomb had gone off. Fortunately, that area was marked as ground under repair. But the green had standing water in the middle. That should never happen.

The real problem was the greens. They were so slow we joked about them being seeded with velcro. And the speed was inconsistent. You could see mowing strips. As a result, the greens had hairy strips and scalped strips with the expected variation in speed. This also made the greens very bumpy, with the effect of slowing putts even more and knocking them off line. We guessed that the greens cost us at least 6 strokes each. It will be a while before we come back, and I'll be sure to ask about the greens before booking.

In the area for the week of Dec 17th. Was recommended by another course to try this one.

Tried to book tee time directly through club house, only to get answering machine for three straight days. Even the mangers voice box was full.

Not sure of the issue, but would like to try the course next time in the area.

If tee times need to be booked on-line then web site should notify players.

Their site just prompts them back to the home page with their contact phone number.

I love everything about this place from the staff to the layout. Every hole is different. Unbelievable views for Florida ! I only have one arm and I like the length off the white tees. I can make every hole in regulation. Over 6,000 is too long for me. IT WAS A GREAT WAY FOR MY WIFE AND ME TO SPEND CHRISTMAS DAY !!!!!
