About
ChampionsGate Golf Resort, an un-matched golf facility for world-class golf, offers 36 holes designed by International golf champion Greg Norman and is the World Headquarters of David Leadbetter Golf Academy. Located just 15 minutes from Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Champions has two excellent and very different golf courses on a single site.
Greg Norman blended tradition and modern elements to create a unique golf experience.
The International course, which is the highest rated course in Florida, has the look and feel of a links-style layout in the British Isles. The International offers a golf experience unlike any other in the Orlando area, but one that will be familiar to those who have played the links courses of Scotland and Ireland. The International was designed, constructed and seeded to offer a hard, fast playing surface similar to those found on true links courses. The International, with 18 of the most dramatic and challenging holes in Florida, is destined to rank among the top resort courses in the country.

Fantastic course
Everything about Champions Gate was great. Fantastic staff, incredible course conditions, amazing greens, and challenging but playable layout.

Soft/Quick Greens
Fairways were soft due to watering of the over seed. Greens were both soft and quick. Edges are slippery. Tough but fair test of golf. I will try the sister course for a comparison in the future.

Amazing condition
The staff are all first class. I have played this course once before about 10 years ago. I feel the same way. It is pristine . The greens are fast but not ridiculous. The layout is average . Mostly flat with many sand traps. Most not in play until you play your approach shot. Fairway are very wide and with good course management. You should miss them even if you scatter your drives . The traps have a blue stake in them if they are ground under repair . Those traps are really not bad. The only thing this lacks is the fear factor . You won’t remember any holes because most holes are boring especially the par 3,s. The greens are tricky and in many cases you need to approach them from the proper spot to secure a birdie. We got this $31 green fee on a hot deal and it was great value.

Beautiful course
I can’t knock the course for weather and maintenance events. But the recent overseed and extensive watering made the course exceptionally long and the most challenging round I’ve ever played. In short it is a very difficult golf course so play the tees commensurate with your ability (unlike the three kids I was paired with as a single).
The layout and setting are absolutely fabulous. All of the staff were fantastic and I look forward to returning for a round with my “regular group” and play from the “old man tees”. This is a Greg Norman gem for sure.

breaking rules
Two players in front of me would not let me through and what was worse was they were both playing two balls each. Wont be back!!!!

Greens were in great shape. Rolled true and quick. Held shots appropriately. Fairways and tees were a bit shaggy b/c of the over seed. A bit over priced during over seed conditions but all in all a good course with great practice facilities.

Target golf/links style
Wow! Fabulous layout around a wildlife preserve. Sand taps and pot bunkers abound. You must know what club to hit and where you want to position the ball for your next shot. There are few trees and little shade so be cautioned if you play this course in July/August. Ledbetter Golf Academy also on premises. Long cart ride to get to first tee,. Greens moderate but not easy to read.
I would like to play this course again.

Premier Course
We had planned on playing the international course but due to the rains the course hadn't been mowed for a few days so they moved us to the National. What a great move. Course was in superb condition. We had a great day of golf. Greens rolled true, fairways were well kept and pace of play was 3.5 hrs.

Course was in amazing shape. It was cart path only, but pace of play was fine. Perfect conditions out there. highly recommend.
