Scenic and Challenging

You can’t beat the views, many, many eye pleasing holes. My buddy rented clubs, the driver was dented and the clubs had not been cleaned. There were no ball washers on the course. It was cart path only so we came in at just over 5 hours to play 18 holes. Very slow. Despite a few minor negatives, I would definitely play the course again.

Not accommodating

I came down with a bug the day before my tee time and was concerned about possibly spreading it to others so I called to cancel and was not able to get a refund. Since I only get out here once a year it was extremely disappointing to have to cancel and having to pay $200 just made it worse.

No Refund! No Follow Up

After a big rain the evening before our scheduled round, we got a notice of cart path only. I called to cancel since I have a “dropped” foot and couldn’t play a round for cart path only.

The golf shop was great and said they didn’t think I would be charged but it was up to the manager. Two weeks later the charge appeared on my credit card and I have not received a returned call.

It’s clear the “management” team is all about the $, Don’t plan on playing at PGA again.

Course views are one of the best in the world. However, course quality was very bad. Greens especially. Condition was slow, probably 6.5 stimp or so.

Pace of play really bad too many golfers out (more than booked tee times for sure).

Overpriced at the moment but when the course is good it’s a lovely experience.

Hot day with some confusion at course.

I loved the course but:

1. I called the course prior to 9 AM to find out if the driving range was open. I called three different numbers, 7605647686 recording said the course was closed as of the 1 Aug for aeration, the second number 7605647101 the recording said it was full and would not take anymore calls, the third number 7605647610 recording said to call the Stadium Course. After 9 AM I finally got a human who told me the driving range was open.

2. finding the entrance to the pro shop was confusing as the clubhouse was being renovated and the main entrance was closed. Entrance to the pro shop was through a side door. There were no signs indicating this. The same thing for the washrooms. The washrooms were in a trailer out side at the opposite side of the building. No signs indicating this nor were we advised by staff where the temporary washrooms were. Left to wonder around in 95 degree heat trying to open locked doors.

3. got to the driving range early to try out my new driver. At the driving range there are signs that say only irons can be used at the driving range! If the website or staff on the phone advised me this was the case I would not of arrived early to use a driving range that is only allowing irons to be hit.

I have played PGA West courses before but not the Mountain course. Putting this as politely as I can, I would expect a little more organization than what we encountered yesterday.

Position golf course

First time players must review the course layout. Do your homework. This layout will catch you of guard if your not paying attention. Driver isn’t needed on every tee shot. I would never pay 200 for this track. Golf now has a better price. $63. This is a municipal track, and just because it says PGA West doesn’t make it better. Can’t wait to play it again. Now that I know the layout.
