Avoid Windy Days

Front 9 was excellent....Great conditions. Back 9 not so lucky as the wind kicked up to 20 to 30 mph.

Cold plus wind equals misery....

The course in general is,a fantastic track. It's in fantastic shape so enjoy it on non windy days if you can.

Poor Shape

The course was very disappointing. I am a scratch golfer and play 4-5 times per week. The greens rolled okay but they were very slow, probably 9 on the stimp meter. The only reason I rated the course as a3 were the greens were average. From tee to green, you will get dirt, weeds, and clumps in the fairways and the tees. It appears they overseeded with weeds and very little grass seed. Not worth $130. Maybe a $40 course at best. Too many good places to play in the CV to waste your time on this place. It is too bad as the the layout is decent, a typical Pete Dye.

Embarrassing

Fairways were atrocious. One hole closed. Half the bunkers were washed out.

Not worth the money

It’s a relatively premium priced course but the fairways were very patchy, a lot of dead grass and it’s really hard to find the snack bar at the turn. It feels like a municipal course that’s just ok. There are some nice parts to look at but it’s not as nice to play.

Disappointed at Westin Rancho Mirage

Very disappointed with condition of the course. No overfeeding except fairways and that is spotty. Greens are OK but rest of course is bad. Hole #5 closed! Redoing bunkers so they set up #4 as two par 3's, slowed play and all players confused. I won't go back.

Ok conditions

The fairways and rough areas of the course were disappointing. Lots of dead grass, dirt areas and weeds. The greens were in good to great shape, but overall the conditions were not at all what I expected. When I arrived I was told that hole 5 was under construction, so hole four (usually a par 5) had been split into two par 3's, with the first pin just being planted into the middle of the fairway (and the fairways were in poor condition, so there was no putting to that pin). I am spoiled since I play at a private club with pristine conditions, but I drive by other public courses frequently, and those look to be in far, far better shape than this course.

Disappointing

The 5th hole was completely closed! No warning prior to arriving at the golf course. No compensation. The fairways were rough. Many dead spots requiring me to mive the ball to a patch of grass. The greens were good.

Very poor condition!

The course has gone downhill dramatically in the last few years, NOT worth even the $90 we paid. Will NOT go back here again!

Not up to par

Fairways were spotty maybe due to early Feb date but have played in years past when fairways were in good shape. One hole closed so had the next hole made into Two par three’s so had to guess at yardage. They are doing a major overhaul of traps leaving much to be desired if you hit into one not completed, shallow, grass filled and hard to get into and out of. It’s a nice track when it’s in shape.

Not up to par

Course should inform that hole 6 is under repair and it plays 2 par 3 on hole 5, time of tee time reservation so players have a choice to play or not. We found out right before we teed off. They had same issue last month with hole 1 and hole 2. It makes me they chested me out.

Missing hole

Ownership came up with an idea "lets wait until things get busy to start working on the bunkers". Every time I play this course One hole or another is closed for renovations while some par 4 is made into 2 par 3's with a bad temp green in the fairway. This is a 17 hole course that charges top $$$.

Hole under repair?

All courses in the coachella valley do renovations during the summer when very few golfers are playing. This course has decided to start renovations on the bunkers at the peak of golf season. With one hole always closed and some other par 4 converted into 2 par 3's with a bad temporary green in the middle of the fairway. After paying top dollar to book your round you are not told of this until the starter sends you to the 1st hole. This is a 17 hole course.

17 hole course

Management decided to wait till peak season to start working on the bunkers instead of May through August when very few are playing. One hole is always closed while some other par 4 is converted to 2 par 3's with a temp green in the fairway. Not worth top dollar for a 17 hole course.

Nice course but…

The course is a nice layout with some nice views. However, it was not in great shape. I appreciate that they didn’t overseed every square foot of the course but the areas that were overseeded were not in great shape with lots of bare spots. The greens were in good condition. I’m glad I didn’t pay full price.

February 12

Unfortunately, the fairway conditions were questionable as the overseed had not taken root. There were many bare spots and very few fully grassy areas.

Green conditions on the other hand were good.
