Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa - Pete Dye Resort Course

The staff is wonderful. however, course conditions subpar. The fairways are not in good shape. Hole #2 was being renovated and closed.

Hole #3 was made into two par 3's.

I would call course first prior to booking.

the conditions of the greens was ok but the fairways were consistently poor.

The 2nd hole was out of play (bunker work) and they screwed up the 4th hole by making it 2 pars 3's which included a hole and flag stuck in the middle of the fairway. Really.

I've played this course many times and this was a massive disappointment.

Course was under repair and 2nd and 3rd holes were not regulation.

Literally the worst course conditions I have ever seen. The fairways are more dirt than grass. The bunker faces are collapsed or bare. Hole 2 is closed for play, so they broke 4 into two temporary par 3's. It should be closed and regrassed and the bunkers rebuilt. It is shameful that they are still allowing play. The GM knows this. He did discount our round after we complained. We booked direct and there was noting about this on the website, which is also disgraceful, I don't know whether this is a Troon issue or a Westin issue, but it's shameful and deceptive. As others have said, it's a total pain to even access the course because you have to park a mile away and take a shuttle. So by the time you get to the tee box (or the range which was also in bad shape), it's too much of a pain to get back to your car. I wish I had taken photos for this. It's a wreck.

Besides, the fairways being beat up, hole number two was under construction, so we played hole number three as two holes to make up for it. Don’t think this was a $125 value.

Parking was a nightmare. We parked at least Quarter-mile away. Apparently there was a convention of lawyers that took up the parking places for hotel, guests and golfers.

The staff was very nice. Particularly our shuttle driver, went out of his way to help us find parking and get to our teatime on time. The greens were nice.

Everything was great except the fairways! Apparently Troon does the maintenance and they burned the fairways. Hopefully next year will be ok!

Awful fairways some holes partially open for repairs they should just close it until it’s fixed

Sorry to say that fairways were damaged by x employee. Should recover in a month or two. Beautiful piece of property. Would definitely play again one conditions improve.

I've played this course previously -- I enjoyed this round. The greens were great. The fairways had been partly damaged due to an error in applying chemicals during overseeding. But they were still playable -- just a little patchy here and there.

Fairways in very poor patchy condition… greens very good

The course was not in very good shape. It is undergoing some renovations and some holes were closed and others had been altered to accounts for the closure. Only part of our group was j formed about this at check in. The green fees for this course were way too high considering the status of the course. Very disappointed

The staff was great, the course is a typical challenging Pete Dye layout and the greens were very good; however, the 2nd hole was closed and the par 5 4th hole was changed to be two makeshift par 3s to make up for the lost hole. Overall the conditioning of the fairways was poor and we elected to play lift, clean and place to find a good lie from which to hit. Would not recommend it now.
