Reviews
Military golf at it's finest
We played the Monday after Thanksgiving. San Diego had some badly needed rain the night before and the course was soggy. Peaple were friendly, halfway house was well stocked and accessible twice during the round. Scenery has pretty good. Course was straightforward and play went smoothly, no waiting time. This was a good value for the money.
My birthday present
My son got me out tobplay a run of golf in my birthday
yes admiral
Played on a pretty hot day for SD. The guy at the desk wasn't the most friendly, but the "player assistant" on course more than made up for that. He had water and ice for us when ever we say him. Given their water situation in SD the course was in very good condition, except for their greens. Seems like people who play there don't know how to fix ball marks which really detracts form the appearance of the greens. The greens did roll fairly well all things considered. The course offered a good verity of holes with plenty of elevation changes which was fun. Would play here again. It was great that there were no homes around the course.
My new go-to course
After not playing Admiral Baker in a few years, I've played both the North and South courses in recent weeks and found them both to be fun, playable and in really good condition, considering our drought conditions and the dry summer. They're such a great option for anyone looking for good golf in the Mission Valley area. Had a lot of fun this past week on the South Course. Condition was spotty in only a couple of places off the fairway, but it was otherwise really good. The small, tilted greens remind me a lot of the Torrey Pines North Course before the recent renovation. It's a tale of two nines: the front being pretty benign because it's shorter, while the back is a strong challenge. Love the clubhouse and amenities. Would highly recommend Baker.
we enjoyed our round.
Great course. Watered and we'll msintained. We got behind some slow guys and had to wait at every tee. Still had a good time.
Strange day
Teed off at 2:00 on a Saturday afternoon fully expecting the usual 5 to 6 hour hurry up and wait round. No one was the out there? Were you all at the Aztec game? Great day!
Wide Open
I was hesitant to book this course since I couldn't find much information about it on the Internet. But glad I did! The course is on what seems a Naval base and the conditions were in great shape! Lush fairways and true fast greens. Bunkers were also in great shape with soft sand. The course let's you hit the driver on just about every hole with wide open fairways. Great clubhouse and staff as well!
great course
The north is much more interesting than the south at Admiral Baker. Once you place the north, you'll love it. Great elevation changes. The two par threes on the front are great. Good three shot par 5 to finish. We really enjoyed this course.
South
Loved course. Except no one fixes greens allot of repair marks needed on all greens. Going back to play south.
Great track
This was a cracking find of a course as we were looking for somewhere to play on our last day of vacation in San Diego.
We played the North course,in terrific condition and plenty of space to hit your shots for all h'cap ranges.
Staff and food were helpful and good value too.
Situated not far off I-15 and close to Quallcomm stadium this is a must play if you are in the San Diego area.
Nice course to play.
Given that it was very hot these last few weeks, I felt the condition of the course was good. fairways were watered and very playable with very little brown areas. Great job to the staff. The North couse is very good, now they need to redo the South. Reasonable pricing to play and pace was good. We will be back. The food in the restaurant was very good. Nice to have a sandwich and beer after the round. All around a good place to play.
Love it...
Best round best course, will be back again..
Admiral north
Solid straight forward course, greens got a little rough at the end of the day but will come back.
AWEZOME
JUST PLAIN AWRZOME, NOW YOU'VE HEARD OF SQUIRRELS, BUNNYS, BIRDS AN EVEN SKUNKS GETTING IN FRONT OF YOU, WELL HOW ABOUT DEER, YES DEER 4 OF THEM, 3 OFF OF TEE 11, AND 1 OFF THE18TH FAIRWAY
WOW!!!
Good place close the downtown.
really great course near by city.
Excellent
Excellent rounding here and I can see a black tail deer also.
I had a great time with golfnow reservation.
The Course was wonderful.
Challenging course especially the par threes. Had a wonderful time playing the course and the GPS was a great help since it was my first time playing there. I can hardly wait to play it again. Who knew such a wonderful course was located there and close to my home. Loved it!!!!
Admiral Baker - North - Great play for the $
Played on a Friday afternoon for $29. Course was in very good shape with a legitimate rough. Holes on this course are unique and challenging in different ways each hole. Overall, this course is good for 9 to 30 handicaps, due to situational challenges and relatively wide fairway on many holes. This a good course to measure improvements in your game.
Nice length on the course and for the par 3's. More than some courses have par 3's that are all 100-120 yd. pitch shots. All the par three on this course are 150+ yds., one at 220. Fairways were in good shape and greens were a little dry and fast.
You really can't beat a deal like this for an afternoon on a good course with challenge.
