Editor's Note: Course closed and reopen as The Yards.
The Oak Bridge Club (formerly known as Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club at Sawgrass) in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., sits adjacent to the famed Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. The 6,413-yard, par-70 Arnold Palmer design features water on every hole, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens. Oak Bridge favors accuracy and strategy over power and distance. New owners have upgraded the clubhouse and introduced a new restaurant, The 3 Palms Grille. A tennis center is home to 10 Har-Tru clay courts.

Only thing missing are goats on this ranch
The course layout is amazing and has real potential. You need to be able to control and work your ball, a gem of a design. However, this course is currently unplayable. The greens are worse than most back yards(we played automatic two putt they were so awful), the bunkers are pure mud, the holes hadn't been changed in at least a week, the tee boxes lacked grass, and it was a true waste of money. Plus golfnow should note it's condition, very disappointed in this Palmer layout.
Round of Golf at Ponte Vedra
I've played this course many times the last time was six months ago. This time the course was in awful shape. The greens are horrible the fairways are OK. Overall this course has really gone in the tank.
needs serious attention
Great layout but sadly neglected
Lost the greens to bugs ... terrible greens and tee box conditions.
Sad to see a great course go so downhill
Let someone know!
Their greens were in poor shape. They knew this because they have recently used temporary greens. They should let Golf Now know this. They let me play an extra 9 holes at no cost due to the condition of the greens. Great place otherwise. Excellent staff. Excellent practice area. Nice course.
Rough shape currently
Aloof of greens in critical repair currently, good potential for the future.
GREENS POOR
THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WITH THIS COURSE WAS THE CONDITION OF THE GREENS. MANY PATCHES AND DRY SPOTS THROUGHOUT THE COURSE WHICH I AM SURE WAS DUE TO THE BAD WEATHER EXPERIENCED DURING THE PAST FEW MONTHS, OTHERWISE I ENJOYED THE LAYOUT AND THE HOSPITALITY. I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT AGAIN IN THE FUTURE BUT WILL GIVE IT SOME TIME TO ALLOW FOR BETTER GREEN CONDITIONS
Shameful
This course was in terrible condition. The greens were all patched and the green banks and tees were full of weeds or had no grass at all. Even at $20, I felt that we should have been advised of the seriously bad condition of this course.
Needs Renovation
All of the greens were in disrepair. They were patched together and some were uncut leaving an uneven fluffy surface.
Greens
This course by far had the worst greens I have ever played on. Absolutely not worth 40$
Shocked - Course Conditions Unfit for Play
It's really sad, a course with great routing and potential in such disrepair. The greens are unplayable (not the temporary greens the real ones). There has been an attempt to recover them but in my opinion it appears they didn't know what they were doing. The fairways have been overtaken with weeds and the bunkers are poorly maintained, filled and surrounded with excessive weed growth, and little sand. I also doubt an attempt has been made to control mole crickets, they are rampant. It's obvious! The conditions are not a result of recent failures; this degradation has been ongoing for a long time. A course simply cannot get this bad within one season. Hopefully management and ownership will step up to the challenge and recover what could be a nice course. It's amazing a course so terrible could exist within a community surrounded by very good courses. I even noticed a large dead decaying bird laying very near the 10th tee box. You would have thought someone would have picked it up.
On a positive note; the gentleman who was working the morning we played was a fantastic representative of the facility. He tried to put a positive light on everything and promised things would be better if we returned. Hopefully for the future of the course, it will.
Redoing greens
It's a fun course when it's in good shape. 15 of 18 greens wore forward on the fairway
Fake greens
They have fake greens at this time. There are a tremendous amount of weeds. It looks like who ever owns this property really doesn't care about the upkeep.
Greens being worked on
Greens being worked on. Course not kept up. Only 9 holes open
Temp greens
The greens are not finished at this course... That's why it is so cheap. The greens at 50 yards short of where there supposed to be and they are not greens they are fairways shave down. So do not book this unless you want to take automatic 2 putts when you hit the green/fairway.
Not Great Right Now
Currently, all of the greens, except for 3, are all temporary greens. This means, you are basically putting on fairway grass, which is terrible. The course will be great once the greens are fixed.
Temp Greens
Weeds in the fairways and temp greens. Many of the "temp greens" are where the layup area was. Course was like a cow pasture. DO NOT PLAY until it's fixed. worst in Jax
Not worth your time
I can understand the greens being under repair, but the whole course was not maintained and in terrible shape. The club house was depressingly outdated with carpets coming up and a pro shop that looks like it was abandoned years ago. This course should not be open. I would not play this course again if it was free. Especially with so many other great courses within a short drive.
a good course to play
The greens were under repair and course will be fine when they are back in shape.
Now is not the time to play this course
They are working on the course, but for now it is in horrible condition.
