Editor's Note: Course closed and reopen as The Yards.
The Oak Bridge Club (formerly known as Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club at Sawgrass) in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., sits adjacent to the famed Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. The 6,413-yard, par-70 Arnold Palmer design features water on every hole, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens. Oak Bridge favors accuracy and strategy over power and distance. New owners have upgraded the clubhouse and introduced a new restaurant, The 3 Palms Grille. A tennis center is home to 10 Har-Tru clay courts.

Don't play this course
I was very disappointed in this course. It was my first time in the Jacksonville area. It wasn't until I had paid for 18 holes that I was told (on golf now) that only 9 holes were open and I would have to play them twice as they were repairing the greens. The back nine holes were uninteresting and poorly maintained - not worth the visit.
Worst course ever
Felt like I wasted my money playing this course. It was in terrible condition and should have been closed until repairs could have been made to the bare, brown awful greens. Never saw a maintenance worker the whole 18. Maybe they should just declare bankruptcy.
Disappointing
The greens were awful. The ball bounced instead of rolling.
Greens in Horrible state
The tee's and the fairways were rough but the greens were in a shocking state and nobody told me in the clubhouse. There was more brown broken ground on the greens than grass. They just left me out to play without any warning.
This course is in terrible condition
Very disappointed in course. They should be paying you to play there instead of the other way around. I will not make a return trip.
Greens are dirt
This course should not be on your website. Two greens had some grass. The other 16 were dirt with small patches of grass. After we played, we were told they lost their pump LAST SUMMER and were going to resod- even though it is now April, it has not been done. The only distance markers on the course are the 150 yr. Some holes had 100. No sprinkers with any yardage. Some holes had no signs- what hole, yardage, etc. Tee box markers were strewn about. I would like a refund based on the course conditions.
miserable conditions
I've always enjoyed this layout and for under $40 its usually a good value. I don't mind mediocre conditions in exchange for an inexpensive round, but this course has fallen below any reasonable standard. The greens are basically mud. Even then, I wouldnt have minded if the pro shop acknowledged it before we teed off. The course is a decent design 1/4 mile from the world's most famous golf course outside of Augusta. Why the struggle?
Condition of greens
all 18 greens were in bad condition, we had to play
a max of two putt rule. The course is a nice layout
and would be great to play with good greens. It was not worth $29.00 in this condition.
WORST greens I have ever seen!
Patient has the course until they prepare the greens. I jokingly text someone that the greens should be called browns.
Never again
They should go ahead & close this place. The greens are ridiculously bad!
Too bad
I hate to say it but the course (primarily the greens) was in deplorable shape. Not one green had even a decent amount of grass. I enjoy the layout, it is tight and challenging, but the greens were sad, sad, sad. It certainly does not measure up to ANY of the courses in and around the Ponte Vedra area. The expectation of good golf is high here, and this is not!
I don't like to give negative reviews, especially of a hometown course, but I felt embarrassed.
Great Layout But.......
I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. Something bad has happened to the greens, really in bad shape, the ball did not roll it bounced. Really a shame, that such a great layout is ruined by the green conditions.
Great course / Terrible Conditions
This course has many challenging holes with great layouts. The greens have been let go so bad that many of them do not have any grass left on them. I have played this course many times over the last year and it has been sad to see just how far they have let them go. They will have to be replaced, at least 13 or more of them. I will not be back until they do.
Poor condition
The course was in terrible condition, most greens do not have any grass, the fairways and tee blocks did not seem to be mowed in days and there were weeds everywhere. The layout of the course is excellent and the view is very nice as it winds thru a residential community.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Greens not green
Played this course after very heavy rain the previous day. There was a lot of casual water on the course, it was mucky in spots and some of the cart paths were flooded. The greens were brown as if they had been sprayed to kill the grass so they could be dug up. The grass on the fairways was patchy and not continuous. The bunkers were just clay. In my opinion the course was unplayable and way below the standard one would expect from a Florida course.
Poor
Poor greens, poor fairways, poor rough, and uneven tee boxes. Staff was very nice. Not worth it at any price!
greenless
While the course has a decent layout and distance, there are way too many water hazards and danger areas not visible from the tee box. The only green on the course with grass on it was 18 and the putting green, the rest were mud and sand and not leveled.
The greens need some work!!!
While the tee boxes and fairways were generally in good shape, the greens were another story. They need a lot of attention to get them back into playing condition. It was impossible to accurately putt the greens because of the rough areas and areas where there was no grass. Hopefully, the greens will come back with some attention and warm weather.
Weeds and No Greens
Horrible. Course should be closed. Greens are dead and fairways are all weeds and goose droppings everywhere.
