About
Two 18-hole courses rest on the 900-acre retreat that is all about golf -- not condos or summer homes. Panther Lakes is the flashier of the two designs at Orange County National, most say, because no two holes are the same. The playing surfaces are lush and the topography is so varied in some areas, some have a hard time believing they're in Florida. The architect made good use of the rolling meadows, grasslands, wetlands and lakes. Visually rich elements saturate the 7,295-yard design.

Great track
One bad green is all that I can complain about. Pace of play, all other conditions were great.
Course in Excellent shape!
Played mid-day. Very hot. Air conditioners in the golf carts were not working. :)
I miss the free water bottles that they used to provide in the cart coolers, and the iced towels they handed out before Covid. Thankfully the beverage cart came around periodically.

First timer
Played Panther Lake for the first time. Marked down the course layout for the strange routing around holes 3, 4, 16, 17. Riding across the same bridge several times.
Course is in really good condition. Greens were aerated recently but rolled well, and fairly smooth. Not a typical Florida layout. Only a few water holes, and some elevation to the holes. Will be back for sure.

Long course
Long course for short hitters. Greens good sand trash freshly raked. Overall great course. Just a hint. Your drives need to be 250+ to even get close to reaching the greens in regulation. Only two short par 3's. Better hit it long.

Beautiful and perfect Condition
Stunning course. Not a blade of grass that's brown or uncut. No bare spot anywhere. The overall look is simply beautiful. Not too busy. Pace of play perfect. The couse is difficult enough with water on many holes but very playable. I love it and you will too, regardless of level of play.

Very tough! But just about the best course around for the summer.
Played on Father’s Day, there’s 4 par 5’s and 4 par 3’s and none are easy. Almost Every hole requires forced carry’s which makes it tough. Many of the greens still had holes so usually they were slower than normal (suggest you get the ball as close as possible for GIR lol).
This is a great deal for Orange County residents though, hard to find a pga style course in good condition for under $70 right now.

Immaculate, best course in Orlando
I played Celebration, Reunion, Southern Dunes, & OCN Panther Lake all in the same weekend, and Panther Lake blows all the other courses out of the water! The conditions were phenomenal, the pace was great, and amenities were top notch. If you can, play this course in the morning. It is so serene during the early hours. I wish I lived in the area because I’d definitely make OCN my home course!

Go elsewhere
Being a luxury resort, I was expecting much better conditions and enhanced service, but we witnessed neither.
First, we get to the front of the pro shop and drop off our bags but are provided no instruction. The bag boy just asked for our name and tee time and ran away with our bags without telling us where to go to pick up our cart. There was also very little signage guiding players around the facility.
Second, the conditions were equivalent to your local muni. The Watson had a unique layout, but the conditions were not worth the $90+ to play. The greens weren’t recovering well after being punched approximately 3 weeks prior, some bunkers had standing water in them and hadn’t been raked that day, there were a ton of dead patches in the fairways and rough, and the rough itself was more like unattended lawn grass.
Third, the amenities weren’t amazing. The pro shop is surprisingly small, the carts were older and ours almost died after the 16th hole, and the beverage cart only came by once.
The only upside to this course is that there are very few people playing it, so you can take as much time as you want. Although, it’s probably due to the locals knowing there’s better value courses elsewhere in Orlando.
