Panther Lake at Orange County National

Nice course, had a fun time playing. Was it it worth $190? No, but that is just Orlando golf now. A shame that every course is 2x the price they were last year. I can remember playing this course for $45 only a few years ago. Safe to say Orlando is off the annual golf trip list.

3 year in a row playing Panther Lake and never disappointed. Course is in great shape, greens are rolling perfectly. Challenging yet forgiving design. Always room to play it safe or gamble should you choose. Staff always pleasant, and each time paired with a fantastic group. Will definitely be back next year.

i had a really wonderful time at orange county : panther lakes. it was in nice shape, a good test, and the staff were exceptional in every regard. i wouldn't hesitate to recommend the course to friends, and if i come back to florida, i would certainly play again.

Bathrooms were not clean

I had a job cancel on me which allowed me to play at the last minute, So Like I do everytime I get this chance I go on GoldNow and see what is available. There it was Panther Lake $59, at 3:38 pm, ok I might not get 18 in but I for sure could get 15 or 16 in before dark. Not bad for a winter rate at a "Top 200" course as the flags the fly so proudly boast, so I booked. So before writing this review I reached out to the course and spoke with Lee, He basically dismissed the problems I had, with excuses and I don't think he really cared or will even attempt to fix them. We had two nice men as starters they paired me with a twosome and the course looked in good shape. We ended waiting on every hole every shot, the course was jam packed, play was extremely slow with no ranger in sight. Second we saw the cart girl on the first hole when we needed nothing and then not again. My biggest problem was the gps monitoring of the carts, these things literally would not let you get within 80 yards of the green without completely shutting down, only allowing you to slowly reverse your way out. So if your ball was somewhere between the green and 80 yards you had to get out walk to your ball to hit it then all the way back to your cart to advance. This is possibly the reason for the slow play, and my main reason for trying to let the course know there was a problem.

When I expressed my concerns with Lee, he said the course was busy that day, then offer less tee times. Lee also put the blame on the pro shop admitting the only thing wrong that had been done, was that the Pro shop attendant should have let me know there was no ranger to ensure pace of play, and as for the cart girl, they should have also let me know to stock up on anything I might need as she most likely would also not be around. Then to the gps Lee said they were programed to slow down at 80 yards away and completely stop at 30 yards away, this was not the case. I'm glad I was so frustrated I took a picture of the cart display and the green all the way in the distance to prove I was right as I don't think Lee believed me. So in conclusion Lee let me know that the full amenities of the course were basically not available if you book after or playing after 4pm, you were on your own. So if you book at a reduced rate expect reduces services, that's what I took away from the conversation. When I play a nice course I expect the same treatment as anyone else or I'll just stay playing the cheaper coursed like all the rest of us Peons.

Played Crooked Cat last year and wanted to try Panther Lake this year. Two very different layouts but both courses don’t disappoint. Panther Lake was in great shape and was a great challenge. Would recommend it to others and will keep it in my rotation.

Panther is in primo shape right now, greens are firm and fast, rough is almost out of dormant stage. Only complaint is pace of play. Once on the course we often learn from the Marshall that there's a large group out front playing a mini tournament. This means 4.5 to 5 hours to finish.

We played the course in the afternoon when the pace was for a 6 hr round. We didn't get close to finishing. Play in the morning only or be prepared to not to finish. We only got to hole 14 when it was too dark to continue play.
