Panther Lake at Orange County National

Really nice place to play. Staff was very friendly.

Thoroughly enjoyed playing this great course! Orange County National is an amazing place for a golf nut. Both 18 hole championship courses are consistently in good shape and are fun layouts. The nine hole walking course is a great place to take a beginner & also work on your irons and short game & the practice area is massive

Most definitely worth the $

Finished up a golf trip with a round at Panther Lake today. I hadn’t originally planned to play here. But after a round at Crooked Cat on the same property a couple days ago, I wanted to try out Panther Lake. Like Crooked Cat, Panther Lake is a great layout and is in excellent condition. Unlike Crooked Cat it is much less forgiving. It is a fair layout. But fairly long from the middle set of tees-almost 6400 yards. It is also much tighter than Crooked Cat with a good deal of water in play and several forced carries. Many of the forced are in the range of 165 to 185. It requires you to hit good golf shots. It’s a beautiful layout full of great holes. If you want a good couple of rounds play Crooked Cat for a good fun warmup round and then Panther Lake for a good challenge.

I don't care how nice a course is; 6.5hr round of golf is a deal breaker. Rangers were useless.

Course in very good shape. Traps were all in great condition. Greens wee true. Perfect way to end year with a day at the course with my sons. Lunch was pretty good too!

I normally love this place, but pace of play will always be a deal breaker for me. This is the second time we've walked off this couse. 3+ hrs for nine is insane. The most aggregating part is the ranger did absolutely nothing. There was a person in the group we got paired with that should have been removed from the course. Numerous groups complained to the clubhouse and still they did nothing. We even had a group demand to play through. If you counted all the missed air swings, they shot 400 for nine.

Second bad experience in 2022. We'll never be back. Courses need to step up and remove these people or the game will suffer. All the ranger had to do was observe 1 hole to see the problem, but instead they just ran away.

I have started realizing that going to this course just requires a mindset of slow golf. I guess the overbook the courses in peak season and I don’t see a lot of rangers around enforcing pace of play.

Very nice course, well maintained and was very enjoyable round.

We had a player pull a muscle the night before and he became a rider. They placed a fourth player with us which was good. The foursome in front of us had 4 players with three of them teeing off from different tees. By the eighth hole we were finally graced with the beverage cart(she was very nice.), but the foursome put us 20 min behind pace. The here foursome left after 9 holes leaving a space between us and the group that was in front of them. Out of nowhere on the 11th hole a marshal comes out of the woods and tells us 5 was ok(only 4 we’re playing) but that we need to keep pace with the group in front. No conversation about the previous foursome causing the delay to begin with. Next hole we were waiting on the group in front finished 10 min behind total. Would have been nice if he approached us to see what the delay was instead of coming in hot and accusing us of being a problem. Other than that the course was in great shape.

I booked direct and paid over $400 for my foursome. We were rained out after 5 holes.....they would only give our/my foursome credit ($300) to use at the facility for anything up tor a year. We're from New York and don't know if we'll be back within a year....friendly staff but that appeared to be our only option?

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed all amenities of the course except the course ranger. he almost ruined the round. Our pace was steady, and we stayed up with the group in front of us, but he was ugly short and definitely not of the holiday spirit. Almost ruined everything. You could tell he loved “being in charge” The rest of the staff was excellent and the course is beautiful.
