The Golf Club at Terra Lago boasts two 18-hole courses, the North and the South, that provide some of the most stunning and unique views of the Coachella Valley. Formerly known as Landmark Golf Club, it was home to the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002, which meant it has hosted a slew of big-name players including Greg Norman, Tiger Woods, and Phil Mickelson. Terra Lago's North Course is the longer of the two at 7,060 yards, which is partly a reflection of the dramatic elevation changes that the golf course tumbles across. From the seventh tee box's lofty perch, you'll get a panoramic view from one end of the valley to the other, making it the golf course's most scenic hole. But it's most challenging is a daunting par 3 with an island green that was the featured hole during the Skins Games.

Desert Gem, what a great course!

I’m a single digit handicap and like only play course over 7,000 yards from the tips. Not an over challenging course if you keep the ball in the fairways. But fun and challenging enough to have a good time. Greens were perfect with a smooth roll. Tee box’s are flat and repaired, which is very important to me. I can’t stand a lumpy tee box. I don’t think there was a blade of brown grass anywhere on the course. This course is well worth the money, and can finish in 4 to 4.5 hours. I highly recommend this course. The club house isn’t some place you would really hang out at, so this is a true golfer course. The driving range has everything you need.

Don’t expect a refreshments after round.

Fun course but experience was completely ruined by staff rudeness. Went in for refreshments after round waited 10 minutes for a bar tender with no luck, asked a woman in an office in the Pro shop and rudely answered ask the pro…Ask the guy at the shop counter if he could help us. He huff and Puffed and I said he can try to get someone. Waited another 10 minutes an no body showed up, As we asked out we the guy behind the counter we we’re leaving and no longer needed anyone. He never looked up or acknowledged that we spoke to him….

Tera Lago

The course was in decent shape. Fairways were excellent, but greens were spotty and rough in places. Pace of play was good, it did bog down in spots throughout the round. But overall was able to finish in a little more than 4 :15 hours. Enjoyable course, with plenty of challenges, but still fair to play. Would recommend to anyone, especially the north course, over the south course.

Fun course

Had fun playing this course. Very interesting layout. Course was in good shape. Google Map gave incomplete route to reach the clubhouse. A kind gentleman told me to go all the way to the end of Terra Lago Pkwy.

The course is in excellent condition and pace of play was great. The older robust grey haired man with glasses and a mustache at check in desk was abrupt rude and clearly lacked patience. He should not be out front greeting guests. He is having trouble at home and having a bad day or he is a miserable by nature. I’d have given some feedback but I wanted to play so I held my tongue

Challenging, but fun

First time playing here, so was definitely a challenge, but had a great experience. I had to use my new sand wedge more than I had hoped. The fairways were in good shape and the greens as well, although they were a bit slower than anticipated, probably because many greens seemed to be getting watered down in front us throughout the round. Would play again if in the area.

I liked it

Was hesitant with all the recent negative reviews but it was actually really good. Staff was friendly, driving range was good, course was in decent shape - it’s not Augusta but I’d give it 8/10 for layout and conditions. Greens were slower than I’m used to but just had to adapt. Paid $115 and in my opinion was great value for the money. Teed off 8am and done in 4hrs.

Played this course as part of a marathon 9-rounds in 5 days trip I took to the Coachella Valley. Played both the North and South course on the same day.

The North course is spectacular. The aesthetics are amazing. Sounds weird, but it felt like I was playing on the moon. Also, the course is difficult from start to finish and is a full test of your golf game.

CONDITIONS: Almost perfect. I felt the greens were running (very) slow. I missed plenty of putts woefully short and never got the speed right. Thanks to the great pace we maintained, I was able to re-putt most holes, but still never got the feel of them. Tees, bunker, fairways, and rough were all excellent.

VALUE: The North course is priced higher than the South (as it should be). The public rate seems a tad high. If available, take advantage of their membership offer.

LAYOUT: The course sits out in the desert with very little housing around. The use of elevation adds to the difficulty and beauty of the course. Given the elevation changes and the distance between holes, I’m not sure I would walk this course. Holes #13 thru #18 are as good as they come.

FRIENDLINESS: The staff were awesome. Helpful and accommodating everywhere I went.

PACE: Was one of the first tee times off this day. Played with a 2some that moved at a fast pace (my kind of people!). I think we were done in just over 3 hours.

DIFFICULTY: A full test of your golf game. There is a wonderful variety of strategic holes to make you think and force you to execute. On hole #10 (par 5) I hit 5 well struck shots, and only then did I get to start putting.

Gotta Pick it Up

We have golfed TL a number of times this year. And what started out as a positive has quickly gone down hill. They have to stop with holding carts until 10 minutes before tee time - it has happened to us twice and two other friends. They haul you out to the driving range - which is a hike and then don’t come back. So the walk back hauling your clubs is really irritating. When we call the office the response we got was along the lines of, ‘They said to call us? We can’t help you.” Upon walking back we got a shoulder shrug. Our other worry is the condition of the greens as the season goes on. They are going down hill. What we thought was a rebound seems to be having issues. The rate with a players card is $85 and they are busy, but the rate isn’t going to keep people coming back. Based on our early season play we were recommending, the recommendations have stopped because our golf peeps are getting cranking with us.

The course pace of play was 5.5hrs.

We understand there was a tournament and pace would have been slow. However that was a bit much. One of our carts ran out of charge on hole 6 and had to push it with our other cart for a hole before we got a new one.

The Marshall was pleasant and apologetic.

We will not play this course again though.

Good choice…but reserve directly

Nice course. Good conditions, attractive layout, nice views, and an excellent value. BUT when I arrived they had no record of my Golfnow reservation (fortunately they squeezed me in); I recommend booking directly with the course.
