Golf Club At Terra Lago - South Course
About
Formerly known as Landmark Golf Club, the Golf Club at Terra Lago was the host of the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002. The club's impressive guest list includes Greg Norman, Phil Mickelson, and Tiger Woods. There are two 18-hole courses available called the North and the South. At 7,044 yards, Terra Lago's South Course is just barely shorter than the 7,060-yard North Course but they are equally challenging. The South is known for having one of the club's most unique and memorable holes, the par-4 second. This narrow hole runs alongside a wide canal that makes anything hit to the right impossible to play. The unique part of the hole comes as you approach the green. To cross the creek, rather than having a traditional wood bridge, the course designer crafted a bridge from an old rail car, which explains its nickname as the "Boxcar" hole.

TL Review
Not until we checked in were we told we would have to finish in less than 4 hours. No golf after 5pm although there is light until 5:30pm. Was told if we didn't like it we didn't have to play. Range was closed so we couldn't warm up. Cart lost juice on the 11th fairway. Had to walk quite a distance back to the clubhouse before we got a ride the rest of the way. A good thing I'm in good shape for a 75 year old man with a Titleist staff bag or I still might be languishing on the golf course. No interest in revisiting Tara Lago.
A lot of fun to play.
Very good course with good degree of challenge. Very Scenic and was well maintained.
Pace of play extremely slow! No marshals monitoring play! We had only 3 players n it took us 4.5 hours to finish. Courses are just taking money they book so close to each other and don’t bother monitoring the pace!
Fairway Grass & Water Stations…we have none
This is always a challenging course, but this year was even more so.
Greens were fast and 2nd cut off of fairways were lush and green. The fairways though were far below standard, because of supply chain issues of no being able to get grass sees for the fairways (so we were told) making for lots of gaps between grass clumps. Don’t even think about putting from off of the green.
Also it was a 85+ degree day and there wasn’t any water available at here normal water locAtions on the course andd no beverage cart. We weren’t notified at check in this would be the case.
Good course value
Layout is challenging, but not too difficult. Staff is friendly, condition was very good. Only negatives was no beverage caret and not possible to sit and enjoy the 19th hole with friends.
Great layout
Beautiful scenery. Course had a lot of construction going on. In many cases it wasn’t clear on which direction to go. Would definitely play there again.
Terrible
We use to play here many years back. Terrible conditions and No Food and No Water to drink on course. Dangerous!!
Standing water that smelled.
I never review but we were upset!
Pandemic has been hard on many businesses and lives but this was shameful
Never again!!
Fairways had no grass! No water or ball washers to be found anywhere…
Course is playable but in the best condition, greens are fast. Most of the staff when you could find one, were inattentive and rude, except for the starter on south course. Not going back this year.
Disappointed
Condition was poor, unusual for conditions in the valley this time of year. Practice area closed due to evidently an outside group. Would not play again even if free!
Poor Fairways
Worst fairways I’ve played in Palm Springs area. You were better off landing in the rough. Fairways were bare, baked, and very little grass. First cut around all greens were in the same poor shape. Very disappointing.
Terrible conditions
The fairways are in terrible shape. No grass on them
The sand traps were like playing on concrete.
There was no staff to take my bag to a golf cart so I had to carry it down and get my own golf cart.
I’ve played this course a few times but this time was my worst experience. I was really disappointed because I like the course.
