Golf Club At Terra Lago - South Course
About
Formerly known as Landmark Golf Club, the Golf Club at Terra Lago was the host of the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002. The club's impressive guest list includes Greg Norman, Phil Mickelson, and Tiger Woods. There are two 18-hole courses available called the North and the South. At 7,044 yards, Terra Lago's South Course is just barely shorter than the 7,060-yard North Course but they are equally challenging. The South is known for having one of the club's most unique and memorable holes, the par-4 second. This narrow hole runs alongside a wide canal that makes anything hit to the right impossible to play. The unique part of the hole comes as you approach the green. To cross the creek, rather than having a traditional wood bridge, the course designer crafted a bridge from an old rail car, which explains its nickname as the "Boxcar" hole.

Fourth hole on the South Course Photo submitted by William4478124 on 02/22/2014
Bunkers are in poor condition.
Standing water where hazards are not intended.
not worth it
Most of the staff was great but some were out right RUDE!!! Course is beat up, slow pace, some left the cart 70 yard before the green, slowing the pace down. I guess they are only friendly to members, NOT the guest playing. Will NOT be back
South
Rode the Golds (6401/70.9/130) as a single in 2H, 45M mid day on a GN Hot Deal. Partly cloudy, fairly calm and around 75, played through one 2 some.
This course is very dry and is in for a bad summer if they do not start watering it much more. Fun layout that unfortunately is rough around the edges condition wise. Bermuda has already fully taken back over anywhere that was over seeded last fall.
Tees had very good coverage with few divots.
Fairways were playable with some brownish areas. Decent coverage with a few bare areas and some lush areas.
Rough around the fairways has okay coverage with occasional bare spots, mostly maintained low. Hardpan the farther you are from the fairway.
Greenside sand traps are very poor. Anything but the flat areas they long ago let go and those are mostly weeds/grass. The flat areas they are use a motorized vehicle to rake, but they are still just okay Consistently too crusty/thin to be playing up to raised, firm greens. Most of the fairway traps they have let go and are more like waste bunkers.
Greens putted medium speed and are extremely firm. Almost no ball marks because of the firmness, they rolled okay overall.
Customer service very good from all. Quick Pro Shop check-in since I prepaid online. Not busy, so they sent me right to #1 tee. No Starter, Marshall or beverage cart on the course. Plenty of water/ice stations on the course. Decent GPS on the carts. Good all grass driving range with a couple of practice holes. Recommended ONLY if you get a real deal, not worth remotely close to rack rate.
Sub-par
The fairways are thin with very little turf. The greens were in pretty good condition. There did not appear to be any over-seeding this year on the south course and it is unfortunate. It was cheap to play and I guess I got what I paid for. The South course has potential, it just needs a little bit more care and manicuring.
Breezy morning - hot by 12:45pm
Very friendly staff. Easy to book. Short walk from our hotel. We had a fun time. The geese poop through us for a loop on the South course. Some areas were very muddy and the vegetation was very dry.
I came to the restaurant when I stayed next door at the Worldmark a few years ago with my family and my Dad. I know Covid has been an impact but was sad it was closed. My Dad was with me then. He just died at the end of February and I have a lot of memories here.
Worldmark people, go and play as it was not expensive and it was fun.
The course could do with more directions; sometimes it was hard to locate tees!
Despite it all, we had a good time.
Terrible condition
Golfed here for years, but I’ll never go back.
They cheap out on watering on the South course and it’s in horrible dried out condition.
No Marshall to keep pace of play- 4.75 hour round that just breaks up your momentum.
Sand traps are like concrete.
Waiting for 15 minutes at bag drop before a guy finally showed up
Nothing good today. Too bad
staff unfriendly
Told the staff my uncle was handicapped. They made no attempt to accommodate us. I went up to the female to pay our fees. I told her my uncle was handicapped. I asked if I could take a cart out to him. She looked over at another gentleman staring at a computer. Without even making eye contact with me he said....NO! Whoever that was, your customer service......sucks.
Run down golf course
Over the years the maintenance of this golf course has been lacking. It is unfortunate because the design is beautiful and it could be a pleasure to play there if the maintenance was done in a professional way. Saving water is not a strategy in a successful golf course.
TL South
Rode the Golds (6401/70.9/130) with Geno in 3H mid day on a GN Hot Deal. Quick, no nonsense player, good guy. Partly cloudy, fairly calm and around 95, we did not wait a shot.
Looked like they were removing a greenside bunker on 9 and had already removed a fairway bunker on 10. I have seen deals online where the TL South course costs less than the TL North course. I can see why, fun layout that unfortunately is rough around the edges condition wise.
