Anaheim Hills Public Country Club

This was our first time here. The layout was a little confusing. Not a lot of people on a Monday morning which was nice. Not a premium priced course, so thought the fairways were in better than expected condition. It is quite hilly--I would not want to walk this course. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Hit from the tips and you’ll need to be on your game. End up on the ‘wrong’ side of the fairway on the par 4s and not only are you not reaching the green in 2, but you’ll be hitting a ‘knock down iron’ then hopefully up and down for bogey. And I’m not even touching on the par 5s - dog leg up hill. The sand bunkers were 5⭐️ Almost too soft and the greens were in good shape but I felt slow (maybe a 9.5 - 10 ).

Been years since I’ve played AH. Some repairs under way but the course played under 4 hours and is well worth a look.

Overall, the course and the staff are great. But $80...Yeah. Right. And yes of course it was a weekend, but give me a break. $80 for that course. Never. And to top it off, the greens had been punched 3 weeks prior and were bumpy and hairy. Sorry AHGC I won’t be playing there again for that price.

Had played this challenge course many times and still love it.

We got behind a Mini tournament where are these players were putting out every single part even when it would be for 10 or 11 very distracting.

Starter didn’t explain that 1st hole had a temp green on the fairway and that the 8th hole was closed. Would have been nice to be told up front. All of us playing felt that was kind of important .

I almost feel like I should get a "rain check" to play the course again because the course was so bad. Temporary green on # 1, hole #8 was closed completely (so one can only play 17 holes), and there was a temporary tee box on #9. The greens were terrible, they had been punched not too long ago and were still sandy and incredibly bumpy.

1st of all the course is in great shape.

The design of this course was very interesting. This is hill country offering steep uphills where you struggle to the green and down hills where you can let “the big dog eat”. Awkwardly placed trees and interesting blind L shaped holes complete the challenge.

You never know what’s around the next corner. Definitely a course where prior knowledge of the lay-out is a big advantage so yes, I just have to come back and try this again!

Perfect weather, colorful course, we had another fun day! Love this course even very challenging!

Punched greens and they just layed down a nice thick layer of sand on them.
