South at Los Serranos Golf & Country Club
About
The South Course is the more well known of the two championship golf courses at Los Serranos Country Club. The course has a reputation for being one of southern California's longest thanks to the Jack's Black tees, which stretch to more than 7,600 yards. It is a lengthy test, but it is not as intimidating as it seems. The golf course is forgiving with par 5s that give you realistic opportunities to boost your score, though the course should not be taken lightly. Course management is the key to successfully maneuvering the elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers. The golf course finishes with its signature hole, which is also its longest at 673 yards. A lake frames the hole and accuracy with each shot is essential. It is a playable course, but beginners who aren't yet up for the challenge can try their hand at Los Serranos Country Club's shorter, more player-friendly North Course.

Tuff but fun
Would play this course again, just wish the greens were a little faster, they were slow.
5somes always interfere with pace of play
I love the South Course @ Los Serranos however I don't play it very often. Every time I've played there in the last 5 years there have been 5somes along the way that have the course backed up for four or more. holes . Yesturday was no exception, to avoid the slowdown I jumped from 12 to 16, shortening my round but was able to play 14 holes at a good pace.
5somes, especially slow ones should not be allowed...ruins the round for everyone but them
Long day
Nice course for the money, but not so nice when it takes almost 6 hours to finish.
Oldie But A Goodie
Course was in good shape. Grateful to the guys who worked on Christmas morning.
This is a long course from the blue tees. Put your ego aside and hit from the whites if your handicap is 10 or above. You will have more fun and pace of play will increase.
Fun course, slow play!
Enjoyed the day, the foursome in front of us took forever. We had to wait for them on every hole. Course was well maintained, but a little muddy do to the rain. Would do it again when I get the chance.
Course in good shape, nice layout, decent pace of play.
Played Los Serranos South two weeks in a row. I love the layout and it's in good shape. Pace of play is OK compared to other area courses. Both rounds took 4:45 to 5 hours to complete, in my opinion this is 45 minutes too long. When golf was booming in the 1990's the Los Serranos marshals pushed 4somes to complete their round in 3:45. I would love to see golfers across Southern California pick up the pace - it just takes too long to play a round of golf on a public course!
This course is long
Hit them long and straight. Good course. We will recommend.
Great deal!
The Greens were punched a few weeks ago and they are playing very nicely considering mAny courses are punching theirs in early October.
Great course for all levels.
Course in excellent condition except for a couple of greens due to players not fixing their ball marks.
IT'S A GOOD COURSE
THE COURSE IS VERY SLOW. MARSHALS NOT CONTROLLING THE LARGER GROUPS IN ORDER TO LET THE SMALLER GROUPS PASS. DIVETS NOT BEING REPAIRED ON GREENS. GROUPS OF FIVE SOME'S SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED OR CONTROLLED.
Interesting course
This course is moderately challenging with some variable terrain. There is water on several of the holes, a fair number of sand traps, and occasional dog-legs. There are places you can get in trouble, but fairways are reasonably generous here.
Exceeded Expectation
Fun to play here and I will definitely go back many more times in the future.
Long and wide, great for the driver
Like the long holes, wide fairways. Nice views and challenging terrain. Some areas were brown but the important areas where green.
Tee boxes and most greens in very good condition
A few greens on the back side have a little disease, but still roll nice. The fairways looked a little dry. Fortunately, I was only on one of them all day. I was hitting pretty far to the left all day, especially for a Republican. Off the fairways, it was very dry and/or bare dirt. I have seen this course in much better shape. However, still a good deal for the price.
Great course!
Played a round in 4 hours! Had a great time. The staff is very friendly and courteous!! I'll be back...
Dying-Needs Attention
Fairways desperately need attention. The course is losing its luster. It can be done, just played Vallano ( Also Chino Hills). They know grass and landscaping.
Long. Really have to hit good shots to score.
Very challenging, but rewarded for good shot. Pace of play excellent.
Expected more
The greens were extremely bumpy so putting was more challenging. Fairways were bare in many spots so good drives on the fairway was not awarded. I've played this course in much better conditions.
