The South Course is the more well known of the two championship golf courses at Los Serranos Country Club. The course has a reputation for being one of southern California's longest thanks to the Jack's Black tees, which stretch to more than 7,600 yards. It is a lengthy test, but it is not as intimidating as it seems. The golf course is forgiving with par 5s that give you realistic opportunities to boost your score, though the course should not be taken lightly. Course management is the key to successfully maneuvering the elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers. The golf course finishes with its signature hole, which is also its longest at 673 yards. A lake frames the hole and accuracy with each shot is essential. It is a playable course, but beginners who aren't yet up for the challenge can try their hand at Los Serranos Country Club's shorter, more player-friendly North Course.

First Time Playing

Fast and Well maintained

I arrived an hour early for my tee time and they let me out early, on my own, as there weren't many reservations. There was a threesome in front of me but they let me play through and then I proceeded to fly through the south course in less than 3 1/2 hours. Friendly staff and maintenance workers. Will definitely come here again.

Long , Long, Long Course

I drive about 250-260....and I regret NOT playing the white tees. Unless you hit 300 yards off the tee- move up to the whites. Course was in great shape.

Tough Track

Course has a tough layout & is very long. Fairways were in pretty good shape, greens were average. Most of the areas between the holes are just rubbish & not very friendly on the eyes. Played on a Saturday at 1:00 & it took over 5 hours to finish. Pace was painful at times. Price is decent.

One of the best

This is a wonderful course (LS South) and is very challenging for skilled to not so great golfers.... has good length even from the whites (which I play), and a variety of holes which makes it great golf. Greens are difficult but in good shape and when you get a good discount via golf now... it can be a great value.

Favorite course in my area

The south course is LONNNGG, par 74! There are a lot of par 5's which give a lot of birdie opportunities, and is probably why I score well at this course. There are very difficult bunker placements, which makes shot selection tricky, but enjoyable. Great deal when greens are under aeration, if you don't mind slow putts.

Challenging course

I play this course few times a year. It's little far from where I live but I like to play here.

When the course is in its best condition, this is a very nice course. It's a rather long, challenging course require accuracy.

The staff are very nice and the course offers many discounted rounds.

The only complain I have is that many times, the play pace is very slow. Part because it's challenging and people spent time to look for their balls.

Again, I like the course and I will come back again, and again...

Nice long course, but 6 hr pace of play.

We had a 12:15, sunday tee time, but it was at least 12:45 when we teed off. There were 5somes in front and behind our 3some so the pace of play was terrible.
The course is pretty good, but it was much better when it was tree lined.

Great weather, nice staff and course is in fair to good condition.

I just happened to have afternoon off and decided to play a round of golf. It is better than I expected just a little wait in every hole. It took 5 hour 15 minutes for 18 holes.

Too many player in golf course, so every hole delayed.

I don't like busy and popular golf course.

Beautiful course

I loved the features of this course along with how well it was maintained! I was very disappointed however with the pace of play! I had a 1238 tee time and was only able to complete 14 before 530 which meant complete darkness! We were waiting at each Tee box for at least 10 minutes!

Good course but don't play on weekends and holidays. Extremely slow and no management attempt to improve.

Played Los Seranos South. Tee time was 11am and had a 40min frost delay. Went off at 11:45am. Terribly slow play. Had a twosome infront of us??? On a busy day? In short, we waited on every shot and played the 18th in the dark. We saw the marshall numerous times and all he said was its slow. We also had a 5-some infront of us after the twosome quit on the front nine. Overall I have played the course for years and enjoy it. I would strongly recommend not playing during a holiday and not on the weekends either. Left the course with a bad taste in my mouth. Think theres lots of room for imporvement in the course management.

slow pace of play

The only problem I had with thos course is they had a group of 5 infront of us and they were playing so slow we went back through the front after the 9th because they were on atleast a six hour pace. We were barely able to finish and we started before noon. The conditions were great amd the staff was friendly, but the pace of play was rediclous
