Good value. Poorly maintained
Good for the price. They can use a lawnmower from time to time to clean up the fairway.
Help this course
Place of the tee boxes on several holes is questionable , especially “18”, fairways need work as well as some of the greens. Despite the little things, it’s a good course and I did enjoy myself.
Bad bad bad all around
Booked a 12:45 tee time. Showed up at about 12:05 and checked in. The guy in the pro shop was not too friendly. As I’m paying he mentions “we’re running a little behind today”. I realized it was cart path only (which would have been nice to note on the reservation GolfNow) but I figured it would be CP only due to rain anyway, so I wasn’t surprised. Pro shop says “by the time we get to your tee time, hopefully less than 30 mins behind.” It sounded like they’d run out of carts and overbooked the day. Carts trickled in and groups went out 10-15 mins apart (so I’m thinking at least evenly spread groups will keep up pace.) 12:45 comes and goes. We finally get to the tee box at 1:40. We think we’re finally off!.. and with sunset at 5:40, we might finish. No chance to play 1-18... the backup starts on the first par 3, #3, and it doesn’t stop the rest of the 9. It took a full 3 hours to finish the front 9. Backed up 1-2 groups on every tee, not just the par 3’s. Thankfully we decided to just play the front 9 again, which we were able to do in about 1:30 since everyone had cleared off the front by 4:45 when we started again. Thankfully got in a full 18, albeit the front x2.
I have played this course many times over the years and it’s no secret it’s slow pace of play. Even the cart cards say it’s a 4:30 pace. But, this was unbelievably slow.
The course was in ok shape for having just gotten so much rain. Lots of mud which was to be expected. The greens were surprisingly fast, but very inconsistent and bumpy. The layout is also kind of crummy. Holes 4 and 5 require a draw iron off the tee, hole 6 another shot requiring a big draw, and hole 8 is a blind landing zone - especially if you’re playing into the sunset!
I know you get what you pay for so I’m not expecting private club level course, but the mismanagement of the groups, timing, and carts was ridiculous. I have played plenty of $40 rounds that do a much better job of running the show smoothly. Probably won’t be back anymore. Better deals and courses out there.
Nice Course but TOO SLOW!!!
I have played here before, but the pace of play was BRUTALLY slow. 10:07 a.m. tee time, didn't tee off until 10:44 a.m. and walked off the course at 4:07 p.m. This is unacceptable. It was cart path only, but this was ridiculous. Recommendation: DO NOT play this course when wet. Come back another day when it is dry. Staff could have done a lot more to move pace of play, but they DIDN'T. I like this course, but will be a long time until I come back.
I will never play here again.
Probably the worst experience ive had on a golf course that was unrelated to my score. Pace of play at this course is abysmal. 9 holes in 3 hours. The marshals dont even try to regulate it.
Dont go here unless you want to pay for something youre going to regret.
If It Was Any Slower...
I was told everyone wanted to play today due to the upcoming rain. However Tee Off Time was running 20 minutes past the scheduled Tee Time. The pace was horribly slow. I quit in frustration after 11 holes.
Good Round
Everything was good except course policy to allow up to one fivesome per hour. There was a slow playing fivesome two groups ahead and it dragged the pace down. I would rethink playing there without first asking how many fivesomes have been booked that dayu/time period.
Pace of play is terrible
Good course with friendly staff. Unfortunately, this course is always overbooked causing a major pace of play issue. First we waited over 20 min for a cart then we proceeded to have almost a six hour round. Course bottlenecks at the 4th hole and never let's up. Very disappointed. Unless you have all day and dont mind waiting 15 plus minutes on each hole I do not reccomend you play here.
Nice greens
The course was ok, nice greens, well maintained, but it seems like they're overbooking the tee times long waits on every hole
Good value
The course was in good condition. The greens were very nice and the bunkers were excellent. Very fluffy and you could properly hit a sand wedge out of there instead of the typical san diego concrete bunkers. The pace of place was quite slow. They allow two twosomes to tee off one after the other instead of making a foursome which can be a bit frustrating if you are a pace of play player. We did not mind as that is what we expected. They are running low on golf carts so we had to wait to get ours. One died half way through but luckily it was right before the turn so we were able to switch out. All in all i would play it again but dont get frustrated with slow play.
Tee time double booked
Our hot deal tee time was double booked and put us 35 minutes behind because it was busy and nowhere to put us. Not cool!
Staff Check In
Staff Check In need of Customer Relation Skills. Not very personal at all. Near rude attitude.
Staff
Turned in a cart losing power after 9,.When in new cart . Older Staff member assumed we were trying to Golf for free, After showing receit expected some sort of explaination of just doing his job and better customer relations. Did not get and got “barked” at when dropping off cart when finished. He did not like we wanted to cart to farther parking lot to drop of clubs. Poor customer relations. Younger staff member offered to bring back cart at lot.
A Fun Time
If you want a pleasant experience and fun time playing golf, this is your place.
just golf
greens were better than in the past. a lot of blind shots, not unusual to be hit into. at a good price, play it. if you have company from out of town, try another course. mission trails has always been a locals course. the staff is friendlier than they use to be.. the course gets a lot of play due to the price. it was just golf.
