2 hours for the first 6 holes
When you host high school girls golf competition,. that's great, but don't sell tee times that start right after. This was painfully slow. Good thing it was a nice day. Course is just okay and the layout, with water ditches everywhere and trees completely blocking the fairway on some holes is annoying. Go elsewhere. But it was cheap.
Nice, rolling hill layout with greens and fairways in reasonable condition.
We had an enjoyable day at Mission Trails for a relatively low price. The course is interesting and takes good advantage of the hills. Lots of changes in elevation from tee to green. The back nine has nice views over a large lake. Not much water on the course -- which for me is a good thing. Both greens and fairways are in reasonable condition considering the amount of play they get. Some tee boxes, however, need some work and some water. The staff -- pro shop, starter and folks providing drinking water on the course -- were all friendly and helpful with hints on how best to play the course.
simple course, good day of golf but not mind blowingly good.
staff were a little intense, the burger guy was great and super nice. I parked my cart in the shade (hot day) and it was about 20ft from the green and i got yelled at for driving too close to the green since it's 25ft minimum. I didn't think i was anywhere near where i could cause damage, but sometimes staff get bored and have to say something. A more polite approach such as "hey guys, you're a little close to the green, just try to keep 25ft away next time OK?" would have been much better received.
This is one of my regular courses --In shape
Well maintained traps, greens rolled smooth, good coverage on fairways. Our play time was uncommonly short for a weekend. The temperature was a factor at around 100 degrees. Steady breeze and steady play made it very worthwhile. Course is in excellent shape.
Fun Course
Mission Trails is a fair course. The front 9 is narrow and challenging, while the back 9 is a bit more open. Greens were in good shape, fairways and bunkers were decent. Only downside was we were unable to hit range balls before 7am due to a noise ordinance the course has with an apartment complex that is next to range. Definitely will be back in the near future.
Some sand bunkers needed more sand. They are more soil than sand.
Tee box signs needed to be repaired as they not readable
Course needs work
I was visiting from out of town and brought my own clubs with me. I was looking for an affordable and fun place to play. Directions on the GPS were incorrect, clubhouse was hard to find from main road. Pro shop was small, gentlemen behind the counter was not very welcoming. The front nine is in bad shape, greens are fast but need work. Pace of play was slow, no marshals to speed play along. Front nine is narrow, watch out for balls from several tee boxes while playing, almost hit twice. The course does have a lot of slopes and the back nine was more enjoyable. Signage for the holes is small and directions on back nine need to be improved. Number 17 and 18 play along a walking/running path, two people ran past me while I was on the tee box, no signage to alert them to wait. Overall, for the price I paid and the condition of the course, I would not recommend the course if you are from out of town looking for your money's worth.
Casual and decent course
Basic course that is not too challenging, yet mental mistakes can be easily made.
great facility
lots of vertical, fun hazards to avoid, very challeging
Best Round of the Year
If you need to lower your handicap, this is the place to play. Pretty open and short, but lot's of fun.
Greens are in good shape.
Course and greens are in good shape. couldn't get a cart until 5 minutes before we teed off and we were there an hour ahead of time. No marshal's on the course and it took over 5 hours and we were unable to finish due to darkness. There was a group 2 holes ahead of us that were 2 holes behind and refused to let anyone play thru or speed up. We mentioned this to one of the managers after the round and his reply was "what do you expect for the price you paid".
Good Value
Overall a good course. A couple of very short par 4's and 5'. Great for your ego to get an eagle...:)
Great value, nice course.
Well done to Golfnow for a great deal. Can't beat the price with a cart. Mostly wide open fairways and forgiving. Pitching and putting is tough due to the hard, super-fast greens. Keep it under the hole or prepare to 3 putt.
Good!
The course was kept up and the 12:45 tee time was great! We were able to play at a good pace!
Amazing twilight deals.
Will play again soon! Only gripe was they allowed a group OF EIGHT people play a few minutes before our tee time. They let us play the back nine first, and it worked out. But a group of eight?? Come on!
It was okay.
I've played this a couple times now and each time I leave with the same feeling. "Eh". It's okay.... not fantastic but not a disappointment. A few holes with views of Lake Murray. Cart girl came around a few times which was nice.
Great local place priced right
The price is right. Kind of a funky layout, but pretty well maintained. Close for central San Diego. Someplace affordable for the frequent golfer.
Better than I remember!
I played Mission Trails possibly 7 or 8 years ago and it was cart path only in many sections and VERY slow.
Played on 7/14/2013 on a nicely maintained, pretty course with a normal pace of play. The course is hilly with some trees with a few challenging holes. It was a great value for the price and we will go back again - sooner!!
Nice place to play...
... If you are looking for great value-for-money, this is the course to go for.
Don't expect the best of the best, but its a well maintained course, quiet as no noisy road nearby, friendly staff, and as far as I can say based on 10+ games there, never too crowded.
Can only recommend, although I shouldn't say that because it may get crowded then....
