The greens are in excellent shape.
Was somewhat discouraged to play a round of just under 5hrs. on a Tuesday. The 9th hole turn into the 10th, where both are par 3's, may play into the delay but it seems also some players take their time with the food stop and no marshal regulates flow.
Fun and Cheap
Our trip started off bad. My friend and I had a 1:15pm tee time and didn't get to tee off until 2pm. After that initial headache the day ended up being fun. The play in front of us what pretty slow. At the 5th tee there were 3 foursomes in front of us waitng to tee off. it would've been nice if the ambassador would've tryed to get the front group to pick up the pace a little.
Really Slow
Arrived to discover we were automatically entered into shotgun start which was ok. Unfortunately there were others groups slotted in between the groups already on the tee resulting in a massive backup. Took us over 5.5 hours to play 18. Greens were in decent condition, fairways were pretty rough. Staff was very friendly and helpful, but not a great experience. Probably will not be back.
relaxing day of golf
played here many times. price is always good. but they always over book and it takes forever to play. we do have agood day here. the greens do keep getting better.
Potentially fun
The greens are very nice, but the fairways are pretty nonexistent. I would say this place is on par with Escondido CC, as far as quality. Both courses could use just a little bit of attention in the fairways.
With regards to the play, it is not very long and has some pretty fun little holes. I would say that bogey golfers have an excellent chance at the mid-80's here, and 15's can break 80.
The greens are not the best because of winter time
Course is fun to play on. There is one major thing that needs to be addressed. A ring around the cups on the putting greens after the holes are cut. It messes up the ball rolling into the cup.
Nice course
A nice course that allows you to use all the clubs in the bag since the langth of the holes varies a lot, some very tricky and some easy to "bomb".
If you want to play a easy course that's not long from the tips
This course only plays just over 5900 from the tips. We played this course in 4 hours and waited on almost every hole. The greens were not too bad, very soft due to the rain over the last 3 days. If you like to cart and not walk then don't play this course after a rain storm. It's cart path only. It's a very walk able course.
Good round to get hacks in.
The course was in fairly good shape however due to the recent rain there was a lot of standing water and wet areas. Drainage improvements are definitely in order on the front 9 holes.
Nice Course For the Money
Nice course to play for the money. Fun and challenging for a "bogey" golfer, like me. Probably too easy for better players. Fairways are generous and greens are challenging, but not overwhelming, for average golfers. I, seriously, drained a 70 footer for birdie on the 10th and my son drained a 25 footer for birdie on the same hole (our only birdies for the day, though). Course was in very good condition. The only negative (nothing to do with the course or staff - which was very friendly), was the weather. We got rained on pretty hard for the last 4 holes (:
Nice course. Slow play
Course was in good condition especially after the rains and the greens were running very well. The only complaint would be the slow play. A 4 some 2 groups in front of us was consistently slow and the marshalls really did nothing to speed them up......Other than that it was a great deal the day after Christmas and nice course to play....
Fun inexpensive course in San Diego area
Course was a little wet from rain but overall in playable condition. If your looking to get out and just play some golf, this is a fun place to play. Just stay out of the kikuyugrass. Overall your not going to get great lies in any area. Greens are smooth if early tee time and reasonable speeds. Cheap fun golf if budget is your preference.
Bring your game.
Great course tucked away next to Cowles Mountain. There are plenty of birdie opportunities but you must work with the dog legs and the gullies on the course on the front nine. On the back nine bring the big stick and position yourself for along iron or fairway wood. The green are a little tricky and need a little maintenance but that could be solve with some player help. Overall this is a great course. Have fun and hit them straight.
The course layout is fun
This is my favorite course in the county. Great value. Reachable Par 4's and 5's. Course is fairly wide open with the exception of two holes on the back nine. Love the elevated greens on hole 9 and 18. In all great course and very friendly staff. Thanks
This survey doesn 't work. I can't move the sliders to where I want to.
I like Mission Trails. It is challenging and well maintained. But you still you need to fix this survey.
Fun course
Play this course about once a week, and always enjoy it. Most the time it's busy and then it's a 5 hour round. Marshall's need to try and pick up the pace and keep the riff raff off the course.
Greens in good shape
Pace of play was under 4 hours.Ambassadors were friendly.Shape of greens has really improved and are very consistent from hole to hole.Course in good shape.
Open and forgiving but s-l-o-w
Good: Greens were super-receptive to shots. Found the greens that are shaded at this time of year are significantly slower than those in the sun (that's my excuse for 3-putting #3, and I'm sticking to it!) Open and forgiving layout. Significant elevation changes on some tees necessitates the use of the right club on a number of tees. Fun stuff right there.
Bad: A 10:22 tee-time actually went off at 10:45. Pace of play was slow, with our group being the 3rd at some tees. Be prepared to wait.
I'd recommend this course only with the understanding that it requires patience with the pace of play.
Like to play there....
I'm ready to go back.....have some friends that will play with me.......
