Birthday Presant
The course was in great shape. The Starter was very helpful and we tee up right on time. The snack bar was not so welcoming employee acted like she was hating ever minute taking are order.
Great value for you money
Great course, nice lay-out. Can't wait to go back!!
Gorgeous Course
This course is beautiful, especially for the price. Not easy, but also not difficult. Good pace and well maintained. This is my favorite course in the area.
Nice course
Course was in great shape. Pace of play could be better, but overall, we had a good round.
empire lakes
great except for the massive amounts of duck droppings on the greens. minature golfing around obstacles. and the fee's are going up to $80 starting march 1st just because their carts are finally getting gps.
Good conditions, poor tee time management
From a players standpoint the course is ideal - and that seems to be consistent. The problem in this particular round was a gross negligence to observing tee times. This is an isolated incident in the 20+ times I have played this course. But it was frustrating to start the round 45 minutes after the scheduled tee time. Once on the course all was great, greens are always good and pace of play was ok for a Sunday. Although it always surprises me that a nice course like this doesn't send a Marshal out, or if they do that he/she don't so anything.
Gone downhill
The course from the last time I played it has def gotten a little worse. I do understand it is winter. But just the quality of the fairways were below average need a little fixing or repairing. Although the fairways were ok the greens I thought were still in great shape. The biggest downside of the whole round was that it took over 5 and a half hours! Now that is just way to long and makes it hard to keep a good round going when you have to sit and wait on EVERY HOLE. All and all it would have been a decent round if it wasn't for it being so long. Oh and the sand wasn't very soft was pretty rocky not fluffy and soft like it should be
Great course for the money
This is really a great course for the money. I would love to come and play as often as I can. This course also have great staff working for them from the starter to the marshalls. Except, the ladies at the restaurant are horrible. They really don't belong at the course. Not only I had to face the worst attitude from the people behind the counter, my friends and wife also felt the bad service. I would never buy anything from the restaurant. They act like as if we are begging for something and they don't seem to have any service mentality but just being there to count the hours they worked. Horrible and Terrible.
Bird Droppings
Overall the course is good but they need to do something about the coons. They are eating up the greens and there is droppings every where.
Greens Below Par
I play this course frequently and usually the fairways and greens are in great condition. This pass weekend the greens were unbelievably bumpy. I've played punched and sanded greens in better playing condition.
Not what I expected.
I played this course on Saturday, Jan. 4th, 2014.
Well I will start with the good: The cart attendant was extremely nice, and pleasent. The course was fun, but this does not include the condition.
Now the bad: The clubhouse attendant was rude, and arrogant. When my brother and I first walked in he was leaning back in his chair, and before we said a word, he said "super twilight is at 2:30". He said it in a very arrogant way. Great we were there at 2pm and ready to play. We weren't able to come out earlier in the day, so we made a reservation for 2pm. When we said we had a reservation he said "oh your the 2pm.". We booked it on golfnow and it was only $30 each, so I guess he didn't like that. Why are they on golfnow if they don't want people to book there? We had a gift certificate that my brother had, which was over a year old. The clubhouse attendant denied it, and said it was too old.
Really? Just a small fact, gift certiciates don't expire in California, it's the law.
He told us that we would have to talk to the "owner" Ugene Park, which on his card says General Manager. Maybe he's the owner, I don't know. He said that he is only on the course from 9am to 1pm, and we would have to come back.
After trying to tell him that the gift certificate was valid, I said this several times, and he was arguing with me, my brother said can you call him. The attendant said sure, but he won't answer. Well guess what, he called, and Ugene picked up. The attendant asked if he could accept an "expired" certificate, and Ugene must have told him of course. His phone call was maybe 20 seconds. The attendant turned around and said okay take such and such cart.
Wow what an ordeal just to play golf.
Now the course: The course is a great layout, unforunately it is not in the best shape. Twilight should cost about 25 dollars with the cart, not 50 (their normal charge) good thing we had golfnow and olnly paid 30. The greens had tons of divots that you could tell had been there a long time. There's really no edge to the fairway, if you miss it, then expect your ball to be gone. There should be a little rough that isn't "too rough". I think I'm okay at golf, but I'm not perfect everytime. And the cart path is a disaster. The trees are lifting up the cement everywhere. They really need to repair it.
And to top off our adventure the golf cart we were in died. Yes that's right the battery died, and we had to have the cart attendant come and push us with his cart back to the clubhouse.
This was once considered a top course, obviously things have changed, and it's sad.
Fun to play
Tough course & fun to play. I play here every now & then.
Very good course
I have been here many times and still one of best course in the east area. I'm always satisfied with this course.
Hidden Jewel
After reseeding this past year, course has filled in nicely. I drive over 50 miles from L.A. To play and it is well worth making the trip. Holes are interesting and tee shot placement is key. Number 18, a short par 5 with a couple of different options, is worth the price of admission.
Great course, great staff and over all a great golfing experience
As soon as you exit the pro shop you have the most beautiful view of a huge lake which borders a few holes and you definitely can't resist but to feel moved a curtain way.The course Conditions were excellent ,Lush rolling fairways and smooth carpet like greens help bring you a solid golf round together. The staff is very friendly and the BarBQ Chicken sandwich was pretty good!Had a great time for a hot summer day.Great Price for this course, I got a hot deal for 35$ .Not to mention it's designed by the one and only Arnold Palmer.
This is a really great course & a good Value -
The rough is challenging stay out of it -Hole 17 is a long par 3 three.
Great course conditions
I brought 2 friends who had never played Empire Lakes and they loved it.
fun course
Really enjoyed this course. Several of the holes have water hazards but there are also chicken wire fences around the water which in some cases stops the ball from going into the water. The whites tees made the hole feel so much shorter. So, playing the shorter tees coupled with the chicken wire protecting the water hazards made me feel a little bit like I was cheating!!! Of course getting the same ole double and triple bogies reminded me that I was not. LOVED THIS COURSE.
Very nice course, my new favorite
This is a very nice, well maintained course, with enough tee locations to suit many skill levels, my new favorite in this area
