#9 - avoid being long into this par5 Photo submitted by jgoodeill on 03/25/2015
The course is old and antiquated.
The course was not in great shape. The pace of play was very slow. I would recommend you play this course as a last resort.
Golf at St Johns
Difficult course because of lots of water and tough pin placements. But great course to play because it requires accuracy and patience.
A challenging variety of holes
A great place to play a round of golf. Our only concern on a busy day was a gap of three holes ahead of the group in front of us. A players' assistant might have increased the speed of play.
Local resident - occasional player here
Course in good condition as customary lately. Greens on the front nine were a little "hairy" and slow, but rolled good considering.
Little bit of a drive, but worth it.
Needed to get car work done south of Jacksonville. Looked for a course in the area and picked St John's due to limited availability on day of play for courses in the area. Was pleasantly surprised. Busy for a weekday, but pace was good. Interesting layout, condition was good and the staff friendly. Good value, would play again.
Tour experience with a poor man's wallet.
This course is a grate course to play if you want the tour experience for a poor mans budget. This is the course for you. The greens are fast on your chip shots and approach shots, the greens put nicely with a good feel. The water they have there is really up to what kind of hitter you are, it really give the option to take more risk and go for it. It does allow you to be conservative and just play away from the water and still play safe. Overall a grate course and good competition for your game.
fair course to play
the course was in fairly good shape and seems to have enough challenge for the average player.

The course was in very good shape and was somewhat challenging on some holes. Enjoyed the golf greatly but disappointed with the staff. The staff was very rude and did not have any personality. They gave us looks like they were better than us. Made you feel uncomfortable and uneasy even when returning the carts. Need to work on being friendlier to the golfers and thanking them for coming.
Very nice
I have not played here in a few years but the recent reviews were pretty good so I thought I would give it a try. The course was in very good condition. The tee boxes were a bit rough but the fairways and greens were really nice. The greens were firm and fast and shots would not hold on many of them but they rolled really well. I will definitely play again.
Good value for the $
First the bad news; pace of play was very slow 4:45 minute round. Greens need to be cut and rolled, very slow.
Good news; inexpensive greens fee and the fairways and rough are in good shape.
Overall for the money it is a good track.
Nice Place
We enjoyed this course. The greens ere good and there was grass everywhere on the course.Lots of water. We will olay it again.
A challenging but fair course that is an excellent value and fun to play.
The course was improved last summer with the addition of a new grounds manager. The greens are well maintained, and the fairways have grown in nicely. There are challenging shots on most holes, and the pace of play is usually around 4 hours. During the peak season, sometimes play slows as it does everywhere this time of the year, but generally, a slow round is very unusual. The staff is friendly and efficient.
very accommodating personnel
personnel very pleasant and helpful, course presented a good mix of challenging but achievable holes
Great Value
Interesting layout with a variety of holes. There are houses adjacent to the course but it felt as if the course meandered through the beautiful trees and ponds on the property. Greens are a tad slow but consistent. They hold well. Pace of play was under 4 hours. I would play this course again upon returning to the area.
first time at the course
the place was very busy when we got there and we expected delays. The staff was very friendly and we got out a few minutes early, earlier then expected. Playing was smooth, almost no waiting times. We finished in under 4 hours. Course was in very good condition
Close by nice staff
Decent course. Good par 3's. Tough chalenges. Greens were good. Course is in fair condition
good local course
would go back nice place to play. convient to my home.has some a number of holes that play over water.
