The second of two Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry designs at Desert Willow resort in Cathedral City, Mountain View is a little shorter (6,913 yards) and boasts wider fairways than the Firecliff Course.
There are also half as many bunkers as at Firecliff. Which still means there are 98 here.
Still, water comes into play more on Mountain View. The course name is no misnomer either. Golfers actually do get great views of the Santa Rosa Mountains as they take on Hurdzan's desert landscaping. This is resort golf with real nature touches.

Only negative— person at bag drop after round was rude and in a hurry to get us gone so he could leave for the day
Very Windy. Clubhouse closed before we finished 9 holes
Nice course. Very windy although they offered to refund our $ if we declined to play due to the wind. Bit hard to tell from the proshop. Surprised to find the clubhouse closed at 5:00 when we finished 9 holes.
Beautiful and fun
We stayed at the Westin and got favorable rates as resort guests. Both courses are great, beautiful on and off, excellent conditions, challenging but playable.
Fantastic Golf Course
This is a premier course in the desert. It is a must play course. I loved it.
Great layout, great greens
Course is in great conditions , greens were rolling nicely. Great course for the money, around $125.
Great clubhouse, restaurant, etc.

Awesome. And could be better
All is great at Desert Willow but they would be so unique and better if they allowed walking and pull carts. Golfers who walk will play as fast or faster than all the silly carts
Beautiful but Slow
This is truly a beautiful golf course, however, it is quite expensive for Canadians and nonresidents as are many courses in the valley.. There was not a Marshall that we saw and we waited quite a bit. If I had paid full price, I wouldn't have been too happy but overall really enjoyed having the chance to play it once while we were here.

Not a value
Tee time stuck right behind a scramble tournament. Had to quit after 8 hole & 3 hours. Ouch!!! No fun!!!!
