About
The second of two Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry designs at Desert Willow resort in Cathedral City, Mountain View is a little shorter (6,913 yards) and boasts wider fairways than the Firecliff Course.
There are also half as many bunkers as at Firecliff. Which still means there are 98 here.
Still, water comes into play more on Mountain View. The course name is no misnomer either. Golfers actually do get great views of the Santa Rosa Mountains as they take on Hurdzan's desert landscaping. This is resort golf with real nature touches.

Pace of play
Again nice layout but no marshall pushing people along. The group in front of us were horrendously slow. Greens look terrible and bumpy with rye dying off (looked diseased) Range in terrible shape and clubhouse closes too early. This place could be so much better!
Great Day
Course was in excellent shape. Pace of play was awesome. Just plain great. We will be back.
The best
We played 11 different courses during the month and this one was the best in all aspects.
Mountain
Great course. Open fairways for your tee shot. Fairways, greens, and bunkers were all in great condition. Greens were hard and fast in the afternoon. Need to watch the grain of the grass late in the day to read the greens. Awesome track.

Mountain View Course at Desert Willow.
Most beautiful course in the Desert. You won't be disappointed, staff was great and the course is immaculate. A real test but fun at the same time. I played from the purple tees which made it a bit tougher for me, but still had a great time. I met some great guys from Canada who had played the course several times and they gave me some insights on various holes which was nice because it was my first time playing the course. Make sure you go to the restuarant after your round. Great food and drinks and the views on the patio are amazing. Have fun, you'll love it.
