Ever since it debuted in 2003 and started earning raves for being one of Northwest Florida's premier courses. This semi-private layout is the star amenity of an 800-acre residential development that touches Choctawhatchee Bay. Robert C. Walker, formerly the lead architect of Arnold Palmer's design company, laid out Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club amidst a nature preserve near the south shore of the bay. While you'll feel the breezes as you play this stalwart of Florida's Emerald Coast region, the water views during the round are of the wetlands, streams and manmade lakes that lend beauty and challenge to the game here. Plenty of trees, bulkheads lining the hazards and bright white sand in the predominantly shallow bunkers add extra aesthetic panache when you play at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club. With so much water and trouble all around, you'll need to execute numerous forced carries on your drives and approach shots. A couple of holes feature island-like fairways.
Regatta Bay Golf and Yacht Club delivers a classic brand of Florida target-style golf, though it's a challenge everyone can enjoy. Moderately skilled players will be relieved that some of the hazards and shot prospects seem more intimidating than they really are. The game at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club comes to a crescendo finish. On the tricky par-4 16th you must avoid the water on the left and the marsh that crosses the fairway. While the redesigned 17th may be a drivable par 4 for long hitters, for most players the primary task is executing a forced-carry tee shot over water that finds the fairway in a spot short of the bunkers that intercede before the green. The finishing hole at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is a reachable ball 5 that hooks around a large lake with the green tucked hard by the hazard. It's the last test of a day of golf filled with strong and intriguing holes.
The club's extensive practice facilities include a golf academy with a canopy cover and a nice clubhouse with a lakefront restaurant that's ideal for winding down after your game. It's no wonder that Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is such a popular place to play in golf-rich Destin.

Beautiful and professionally run course!
The course was beautiful and challenging (it definitely kicked my butt). But I enjoyed it! The staff and organization of the whole facility was run like a grade A country club. We will be back!

Bring your sledge hammer for the greens. Other than that it is a fun track.

Start to finish
From the bag drop, through the starter from Illinois, till the clubs made it back into the car the staff made us feel like friends. My wife and I got to play along with two athletes playing from the gold tees while we played more forward so we got to see multiple views of each hole. Greens a bit slow and irregular, but overall course in fine shape. Many other options along the emerald coast, this our third trip to Regatta Bay over several decades and glad we did. Can’t wait to play next time we in Destin.

Beautiful course
course is hard, but a very good layout. Lots of water. Lots of sand traps. But I like a challenge. Will play again if I have the chance. And the staff could not have been any nicer. everything was great. Thanks for the memory s. James

Not Still a Top Course
Course had many moments of being pretty. However, pace was almost 5 hours, Tee boxes were torn up with divots, Greens were beyond ready to be cut. Overall, not the course I was expecting with marketing about it being a Top 200 course in the U.S. and a top course in Florida. I would not rank it in either one. I would not re-play.

Not worth the price
This place is way over priced. The pictures make it look nicer than it is. The greens might be the slowest I've ever played.

Worth it!
Beautiful course and not crowded. We were able to play quickly without waiting on people ahead of us. There are some tough hazards off the tee box so make sure you can drive the ball over water and other hazards. Greens are not overly difficult. Very well-kept course.

Great round
Great track and course is always fun. Greens punched a couple of weeks before so greens did not roll well, course is always solid but green fee was too high for the condition this time.

Nice Course
Nice layout with some good holes. Condition of the tees was poor. Greens were slow and inconsistent. Fairways were very good.
Pace of play was slow - took over 4.5 hours.
