About
Ever since it debuted in 2003 and started earning raves for being one of Northwest Florida's premier courses. This semi-private layout is the star amenity of an 800-acre residential development that touches Choctawhatchee Bay. Robert C. Walker, formerly the lead architect of Arnold Palmer's design company, laid out Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club amidst a nature preserve near the south shore of the bay. While you'll feel the breezes as you play this stalwart of Florida's Emerald Coast region, the water views during the round are of the wetlands, streams and manmade lakes that lend beauty and challenge to the game here. Plenty of trees, bulkheads lining the hazards and bright white sand in the predominantly shallow bunkers add extra aesthetic panache when you play at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club. With so much water and trouble all around, you'll need to execute numerous forced carries on your drives and approach shots. A couple of holes feature island-like fairways. Regatta Bay Golf and Yacht Club delivers a classic brand of Florida target-style golf, though it's a challenge everyone can enjoy. Moderately skilled players will be relieved that some of the hazards and shot prospects seem more intimidating than they really are. The game at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club comes to a crescendo finish. On the tricky par-4 16th you must avoid the water on the left and the marsh that crosses the fairway. While the redesigned 17th may be a drivable par 4 for long hitters, for most players the primary task is executing a forced-carry tee shot over water that finds the fairway in a spot short of the bunkers that intercede before the green. The finishing hole at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is a reachable ball 5 that hooks around a large lake with the green tucked hard by the hazard. It's the last test of a day of golf filled with strong and intriguing holes. The club's extensive practice facilities include a golf academy with a canopy cover and a nice clubhouse with a lakefront restaurant that's ideal for winding down after your game. It's no wonder that Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is such a popular place to play in golf-rich Destin.

Worth it!
Beautiful course and not crowded. We were able to play quickly without waiting on people ahead of us. There are some tough hazards off the tee box so make sure you can drive the ball over water and other hazards. Greens are not overly difficult. Very well-kept course.

Great round
Great track and course is always fun. Greens punched a couple of weeks before so greens did not roll well, course is always solid but green fee was too high for the condition this time.

Nice Course
Nice layout with some good holes. Condition of the tees was poor. Greens were slow and inconsistent. Fairways were very good.
Pace of play was slow - took over 4.5 hours.
Really good practice facilities.

We played two days this week, extremely slow but a nice course. Would like to see the tee times spaced out a little more
We regret that pace was an issue for you but really appreciate you taking the time to let us know. Our average pace this time of year is 4:20 but our Marshalls do their best to encourage quicker play whenever possible. Thanks again for the comments, we hooe to have you back again soon!

Great course, pace of play unacceptable
Waited on every hole from 3 on. Some times as much at 10 minutes. Well over 5 hours.

Beautiful course with great layout
To start out this course was absolutely beautiful from the moment I pulled up. The staff picked me up took me to the door strapped in the clubs. Got us rolling with a very quick start. I did read that they were doing work, but was unaware of the green Work, the course was in beautiful shape except for the greens. The greens had a large amount of sand on them which I do understand maintenance but this did affect the ability of reading green and playing greens. Overall, this course is beautiful. We will definitely be back.

Not up to the usual standard
I’ve been playing this course for several years now and in the past it has been in great shape. This year the course has more damage to its fairways and tee boxes than I’ve ever seen in the 6 years I’ve been playing there. I hope they get it under control and back to the pristine condition it deserves. I’m not saying it terrible just saying it’s not up to par.
