Ever since it debuted in 2003 and started earning raves for being one of Northwest Florida's premier courses. This semi-private layout is the star amenity of an 800-acre residential development that touches Choctawhatchee Bay. Robert C. Walker, formerly the lead architect of Arnold Palmer's design company, laid out Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club amidst a nature preserve near the south shore of the bay. While you'll feel the breezes as you play this stalwart of Florida's Emerald Coast region, the water views during the round are of the wetlands, streams and manmade lakes that lend beauty and challenge to the game here. Plenty of trees, bulkheads lining the hazards and bright white sand in the predominantly shallow bunkers add extra aesthetic panache when you play at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club. With so much water and trouble all around, you'll need to execute numerous forced carries on your drives and approach shots. A couple of holes feature island-like fairways.
Regatta Bay Golf and Yacht Club delivers a classic brand of Florida target-style golf, though it's a challenge everyone can enjoy. Moderately skilled players will be relieved that some of the hazards and shot prospects seem more intimidating than they really are. The game at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club comes to a crescendo finish. On the tricky par-4 16th you must avoid the water on the left and the marsh that crosses the fairway. While the redesigned 17th may be a drivable par 4 for long hitters, for most players the primary task is executing a forced-carry tee shot over water that finds the fairway in a spot short of the bunkers that intercede before the green. The finishing hole at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is a reachable ball 5 that hooks around a large lake with the green tucked hard by the hazard. It's the last test of a day of golf filled with strong and intriguing holes.
The club's extensive practice facilities include a golf academy with a canopy cover and a nice clubhouse with a lakefront restaurant that's ideal for winding down after your game. It's no wonder that Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is such a popular place to play in golf-rich Destin.

Awesome course
Regatta Bay was in my Too 3 courses that I’ve played in the country or out of the country. Layout was so beautiful found a lot of the sand traps but overall great course.
Love this course
I always enjoy playing this course and it is challenging. The only thing negative about my experience this time is that the greens were much slower than usual.

Nice track, pace could be better.
Beautiful course and well maintained throughout. Pace was poor, running nearly 5 hours on a weekday mid-day start. Marshalls tried to get groups in front of us moving but did little to actually improve their pace.

Very Nice Course
Was vacationing in the area and was originally scheduled to play at another course, but my tee time was inexplicably cancelled. Ended up at Regatta Bay and was happy that I got canceled! Course is in great shape. All of tee boxes were good. Cart lady was extremely friendly and personable, you can tell that she’s genuinely that way. Only knock is, for the price, you should at least get lunch or a sleeve of balls ($200/round).
Will def be back next time I’m in Destin.

Beautiful course but horrible greens
The course itself was beautiful scenery, but the greens were the worst we’ve played in Florida. We luckily paid a twilight rate, but I wouldn’t have been happy if we had paid what the course normally charges.

Worth a "hot deal" every day of the week and twice on wednesday!
Great venue, range balls included, valet service to and from my car.... everything was top notch.... worth $120 any time....

Very slow play
Waited 10 minutes or more to tee off on every hole. Have rangers but don’t push playing faster.
Obviously didn’t help that had to stop play at hole 13 due to rains.
Fairways’ grass is sparse in many areas.

Great Course
Challenging for the weekend golfer but several tee options make it enjoyable for any skill level.
Greens were still recovering a little bit from aeration and topdressing but they were 95% recovered yet still had lots of sand and small pebbles on the green. They probably could have gone ahead and vaccumed/blown off the remnants but I won't knock them for their maintenance practices because the course was in great shape. The only knock I'll give is having to hit off of mats at the range when the course was dewy at most. All in all, 100% would recommend if you can find a discounted rate online because I don't think I'd pay the normal $189 to play here unless it's peak growing season when the course is flush.
