Ever since it debuted in 2003 and started earning raves for being one of Northwest Florida's premier courses. This semi-private layout is the star amenity of an 800-acre residential development that touches Choctawhatchee Bay. Robert C. Walker, formerly the lead architect of Arnold Palmer's design company, laid out Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club amidst a nature preserve near the south shore of the bay. While you'll feel the breezes as you play this stalwart of Florida's Emerald Coast region, the water views during the round are of the wetlands, streams and manmade lakes that lend beauty and challenge to the game here. Plenty of trees, bulkheads lining the hazards and bright white sand in the predominantly shallow bunkers add extra aesthetic panache when you play at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club. With so much water and trouble all around, you'll need to execute numerous forced carries on your drives and approach shots. A couple of holes feature island-like fairways.
Regatta Bay Golf and Yacht Club delivers a classic brand of Florida target-style golf, though it's a challenge everyone can enjoy. Moderately skilled players will be relieved that some of the hazards and shot prospects seem more intimidating than they really are. The game at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club comes to a crescendo finish. On the tricky par-4 16th you must avoid the water on the left and the marsh that crosses the fairway. While the redesigned 17th may be a drivable par 4 for long hitters, for most players the primary task is executing a forced-carry tee shot over water that finds the fairway in a spot short of the bunkers that intercede before the green. The finishing hole at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is a reachable ball 5 that hooks around a large lake with the green tucked hard by the hazard. It's the last test of a day of golf filled with strong and intriguing holes.
The club's extensive practice facilities include a golf academy with a canopy cover and a nice clubhouse with a lakefront restaurant that's ideal for winding down after your game. It's no wonder that Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is such a popular place to play in golf-rich Destin.

Top Notch Course
This course is beautiful and well-kept. The driving range is really close to the parking lot, which I like. Staff was very friendly.
Very slow play
Waited 10 minutes or more to tee off on every hole. Have rangers but don’t push playing faster.
Obviously didn’t help that had to stop play at hole 13 due to rains.
Fairways’ grass is sparse in many areas.

Fun layout but the overall condition left something to be desired. It could be during the transition phase so I will give it the benefit of the doubt.

Great Course
Challenging for the weekend golfer but several tee options make it enjoyable for any skill level.
Greens were still recovering a little bit from aeration and topdressing but they were 95% recovered yet still had lots of sand and small pebbles on the green. They probably could have gone ahead and vaccumed/blown off the remnants but I won't knock them for their maintenance practices because the course was in great shape. The only knock I'll give is having to hit off of mats at the range when the course was dewy at most. All in all, 100% would recommend if you can find a discounted rate online because I don't think I'd pay the normal $189 to play here unless it's peak growing season when the course is flush.

Morning round, very good course with challenges on every hole. I played the back tees and enjoyed the challenge. Greens were in so-so shape but I would play the course again.

Love this Place!
My son and I have played this twice. We love this place!! Great track….fantastic people working there. Wonderful clubhouse and pro shop. It’s among our personal TOP 3 courses to play anywhere. Challenging….but so much fun! We will come back every chance we can get! Do yourself a favor and play it!

Great Course
We really enjoyed playing this course. The course was in real good condition from tee to green. You could tell the greens had been punched a couple weeks ago but was growing in nicely. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pace of play was good. Finished in about 4 hours. Definitely will play this course again.

Terrific track
Beautiful course, friendly staff members, nice range and putting green, short game area closed as being rebuilt, pace of play was slowest by far of all 4 courses we played, at 4 1/2+ hours, and was open holes in front of group ahead of us, just would not waive us through and no ranger did either.
