Family Golf Day
The course is too wet and muddy. Not enough drainage.
After a lot of rain
The month of December brought a lot of rain and the course could not be mowed. In some places the tractors created muddy ruts where they tried to mow the wet fairways. The greens were all in beautiful shape but we lost some playable balls in the tall grass just adjacent to the fairways.
Too much rain
Course was almost unplayable. Was surprised they let carts out on course - not cart path only. Should have paid us to play, and do not know why the pro shop didn't say anything before we teed off. Too wet to mow fairways - alot of standing water and mud. Not an enjoyable round at all.
challenging
Just after a rainstorm, only 2 holes with large puddles, but not a problem to avoid them. Fun day
Geat value
for a mini course napa has a little challenge to it. The layout is fair and you have your share of risk reward a few times. Very open. 10 is a real challenge to manage
Napa golf course
Good layout on some holes. A lot of standing water and huge brown patches in middle of fairways. It had just rained 2 days prior. Would like to play in dryer conditions. Much nicer places to play in napa.
In bad need of grounds repair
Lots of standing water. A lot of fairways are in bad need of repair. Greens are in okay condition but some have some dying grass brown patches. Luckily I got a discount to play the course early and the pace moved well. I cant see this course as worth paying the full price of admission.
Municipal course
pace of play was 4 hours at 9:30am with a twosome behind a 4 some on Friday morning. Its a good layout with generous fairways but some areas can get tight if you push it too far. My only concerns were the shaggy slow greens and the muddy and brown patches in the fairway. Rough was wet and tall. Not sure it's retail price worthy but a good value if on a good discount.
Good course, pretty tough if not keeping the ball in the fairway.
Few spots of excessive water. Some sand bunkers with hardly any sand! Overall great value for money.
Good greens, Very poor browned out fairways
Obviously the drought has severely affected this course. Vast areas of browned out , muddied fairways.
Staff shouldn't allow 5 somes and push groups out onto the 10 tee in between groups while people are putting on the 9th green. thereby leading to over five hour rounds.
will be great after new year
Trak is great. Condition is not. Fixing will take time but i have a feeling it wont be long. Just a few months. I will be back for revenge.
its a good course
ive played this course for years and my experience with the course and staff has been very good my game work in progress so if you have the chance to get out to this course do so....
I like Kennedy
I've played this course for years. In general it's well maintained. There's just enough difficulty to it to make it challenging but not so much as to make it torture. Now that they've improved the bunkers (real sand, thank you!) it's a good course. The pace of play varies -- slower in the mornings and opening up in the afternoon. Its clientele tend to be very pleasant, waving you through if you're a faster, more capable golfer. My only objection is that it's got a few areas without grass that seem just too large. Otherwise, book it and enjoy!
Napa Kennedy
Great value at $25 even with recently plugged greens. Some hole gorgeous, some beat up. Greens were fair...some serious fungus. Played in 3 hours as twosome weekday.
Well worn public course in Napa
I have played the Napa golf course at Kennedy Park many times but this time was the mist disturbing. Newly added GPS devices on the carts did not work and the course was in extremely poor condition.
Because of the drought, it is not unusual to see some brown spots in fairways. There were more than a few. Most marked as Ground Under Repair. In addition, many of the greens were showing bald spots and very very uneven. Putting was more of an adventure that driving the fairways.
A course with lots of water hazards, if you don't find the fairways you can lose a lot of balls.
Maybe we will have a wet winter and this course will recover but right now it is a mess.
Big bank for your buck
No one can't beat this deal at napa Kennedy park golf course. The golf course itself is in very excellent condition , and a cart with GPS , how can you beat that Pace of play is pretty good too
Napa Municipal - Rough Course Condition
since I live in Napa and play this course more this summer this is the first time I have played where I was disappointed in it's condition. There was standing water everywhere, it's like they think overwatering will help the fairway grasses grow.
the fairways were spotty with grass, the greens were in very bad shape lots of bare spots only a couple looked like they should have, overall I was not happy with the course conditions. But as we all know golf courses can go south quickly but and recover as well with a little tlc and a superintendent that knows his business.
Overall I will not play at Napa Muni for awhile too many excellent conditioned courses around to play. While Napa Muni recovers, let's hope it does..
It's rough
Fairways and greens are in VERY rough conditions, I wouldn't spend more than $30 playing here
Very good value
Tee time at 330 pm on Saturday. More crowded than I thought. Also the course does not honor a Golf Now price as a walk on as I showed the attendant the GN price on my phone but they do not accept or change their price at the counter. It was fine as I booked on line and got my play for $20 versus their $40. The attendant however was very good and cool about it. Course in pretty good condition given drought, earthquake etc. fun for all levels but I f you are a 4 handicap or less l this course probably too easy. For above that, this proves to be a fun and reasonable test of your golf skills. holes 10-13 are beautifully set in the woods. Charming. Greens are spongy though and slow - makes for uneven putting day. Great value and fun day though pace was slow as many walk, which is good but with a cart you can get backed up but that can be said for many courses.. No matter, for $20 on a late afternoon tee time, great value...
this course was a mess
The course was in horrible condition. Standing water and dead spots everywhere on the course. I have played here many times and loved it before. I think it is owned by the city and with the resources spread thin because of the earthquake I understand.
