Big bank for your buck
No one can't beat this deal at napa Kennedy park golf course. The golf course itself is in very excellent condition , and a cart with GPS , how can you beat that Pace of play is pretty good too
Napa Municipal - Rough Course Condition
since I live in Napa and play this course more this summer this is the first time I have played where I was disappointed in it's condition. There was standing water everywhere, it's like they think overwatering will help the fairway grasses grow.
the fairways were spotty with grass, the greens were in very bad shape lots of bare spots only a couple looked like they should have, overall I was not happy with the course conditions. But as we all know golf courses can go south quickly but and recover as well with a little tlc and a superintendent that knows his business.
Overall I will not play at Napa Muni for awhile too many excellent conditioned courses around to play. While Napa Muni recovers, let's hope it does..
It's rough
Fairways and greens are in VERY rough conditions, I wouldn't spend more than $30 playing here
Very good value
Tee time at 330 pm on Saturday. More crowded than I thought. Also the course does not honor a Golf Now price as a walk on as I showed the attendant the GN price on my phone but they do not accept or change their price at the counter. It was fine as I booked on line and got my play for $20 versus their $40. The attendant however was very good and cool about it. Course in pretty good condition given drought, earthquake etc. fun for all levels but I f you are a 4 handicap or less l this course probably too easy. For above that, this proves to be a fun and reasonable test of your golf skills. holes 10-13 are beautifully set in the woods. Charming. Greens are spongy though and slow - makes for uneven putting day. Great value and fun day though pace was slow as many walk, which is good but with a cart you can get backed up but that can be said for many courses.. No matter, for $20 on a late afternoon tee time, great value...
this course was a mess
The course was in horrible condition. Standing water and dead spots everywhere on the course. I have played here many times and loved it before. I think it is owned by the city and with the resources spread thin because of the earthquake I understand.
course is good under drought conditions
Greens need immediate attention. Lots of brown spots
GREAT GOLF VALUE IN NAPA
This course ifs perfect for beginners or experts who want a quick round at a cheap price in a great location
Napa Municipal Golf Friiday morning golf
Staff was very friendly, and the facility was clean, but the course was a mess.
1. Most of the greens (14 or 15) were in very poor condition, like they were cut too short and had been burnt by the sun which has now died
2. The fairways had lots of areas of "ground under repair", which were really dead spots of grass
3. I managed to get into 2 sand traps, good lies in the middle of the traps, but there was only 1/4" of sand covering the very firm clay earth beneath the sand
4. Our group had too wait 4 different times for the greens keepers to finish cutting the greens on the back 9, which I could see if it was early in our round but this was about 10am, 2 1/2 hours into our round when the mowing should have already been completed for the day
good location easy to get in a round in 4 hrs
very nice greens in excelent condition--will go back
Love the price. Course was in good condition
Fairways were in very good condition. Some of the greens were a little rough. Overall course was in good condition and price was great.
Good course for the price
Good layout, an easy course to walk, with fair amount of challenge due to many water hazards. Fairways in good condition considering drought. Some greens have some damaged areas. Still enjoy playing this course very much.
Poor Conditions
This is the first time that I felt strongly enough to take the time a write a review. We paid $20 with cart and considering the course conditions, I would have to say that was too much. They have almost lost the fairways...good luck finding a patch of grass to hit off. A couple of the holes had a horrible sulfur smell.
Course Looking Great
Tee boxes and greens are looking great. Snack bar has moved to the regular bar.
a forgetable experience
the reviews online make the course sound great. Compared to other courses in the area Napa golf course does not stack up well. The overall experience was one I put in the category of a very average muni course
kennedy @napa with GO
Course was in excellent condition. Fun and fair. Enjoyed a great day with cousin from pleasanton and myself from sebastopol. 3 some in front and playing a little slower and let us thru. As twosome played pretty fast and great pace. Stay away from water in play on several holes.
Good iron play a required
I have played this course many time over the past 25 years. The condition of the course is a mixed bag. The fairways are OK and getting better. The women's tees need to be moved up on almost every hole. The greens are pretty good but they are firm and do not hold your approach shot very well. Almost all of the greens are elevated. Allow for some roll out on these greens. The bunkers are mostly in very poor condition. Don't let the yardage fool you. It plays longer than the actual "book" yardage. However this is a good test of golf on a course that was a Monday qualifier for old PGA event at Silverado in Napa.
Hurry Up
Good for the money on a weekend, but jam packed and very slow. Nobody out there monitoring progress or pace
Bogey
Course is decent. Cart girl and GPS are nice upgrades.
Signage
Great course , great value and friendly staff.
My only complaint was that none of the holes were marked with a hole #. Is it too much trouble to have a # painted somewhere?
A fair test of golf
As a 3 some, we had to let so many singles and one dlb was behind and hitting into several times..we were keeping up with the 2 some in front of us and the 2 some behind was very stupid and hitting past us once...this is very bad and the Course needs to address it...they should not be letting singles and dbls out like that..pair them up...I doubt I will be playing at this course until they do...too dangerous and seemed like a lot of rude players all in a big hurry...one single actually hit beside our green as we were on it putting..he finished and took off...unbelievable ...I hope this gets to as many players as possible and to the starters and mgmt at Kennedy Park, Napa Golf Course...3 1/2 hrs is plenty fast for any course and a marshall should be ou there addressing issues like these before someone gets hurt by a ball being hit into them...was like playing in a nut house out there...rudest players I've probably ever seen..
