The Crooked Cat Course is one of two 18-hole regulation courses at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge. The facility is also home to a nine-hole executive course. The Crooked Cat Course is a challenge with dramatic elevation changes and rolling fairways that are framed with mounding. The golf course has a links-style design with large, contoured greens and wide landing areas. Water hazards and several bunkers come into play throughout. There are also trees and native heather present on the course for a naturally beautiful atmosphere. Orange County National's Crooked Cat Course is favored among low handicappers due to its length and difficulty.

Choose your tee carefully. The Black & Orange tees are a stout test! The greens were recently sanded, but were smooth. The deep rough can be very penal at times. I always enjoy this course. Bring your own water - the beverage cart came by only once.

Nice Course but probably won’t return because of unprofessional staff

The course is nice and in good pretty good shape. My wife and I had a great time playing 9. We are likely not to return, however, due to the unprofessional behavior of the golf shop worker, who I believe was named Phil. I’m not sure if it was because we are a younger couple (mid 30s so not that young) or if he has a problem with women playing golf, but his behavior towards us compared to other guests was appalling and demeaning.

Once we were out on the course everything was great. We were paired up with a couple of members who are passionate about the game and the course layout. It was a great time. Hole #9 is a beaut!

No one told us but they put a top dressing of sand on the greens, so they were a little gritty. Overall the course was in great shape, not too many golfers on a Wednesday morning. One other thing you now get your range balls from the staff at the bag drop, but I think that will change soon as I saw a ball dispenser at the driving range.
