Camelback Golf Club - Padre Course

Nice layout,I am a fan of designer Arthur Hills.Might be a little pricey,although we were fortune to get a good rate. A very enjoyable experience and great staff in pro shop.

Great experience at Camelback, from the time we dropped off our bags to end of the round with only one small asterisk.
The driving range was more then adequate with space for driving, chipping and putting. And one didn't have to wait or worry about being confined to a three foot space. Starters were engaging and beverage cart was frequent. Nice layout of course and one wasn't hitting in between homes the entire course as some Arizona layouts. I thought it was a great value for the experience.
The only asterisk would of been an open beverage bar at the end of the round. It was not quite dusk, but we had enjoyed the round and we wanted to have a beer or drink afterwards. We went to the bar and they were closing down and didn't want to serve us. Not a huge downer but perhaps we would of gotten something to eat. Perhaps a cap or shirt but the pro shop was closed as well.

Was looking forward to playing the course but 2 days after booking our reservation was cancelled without giving a reason. Luckily I checked my e-mail and was able to book another tee time elsewhere for the same time.

Course was in great shape, but play was slow for a Friday. Got a great special price through golf now otherwise I wouldn't pay $100+ to play there. I tap out at $75 during prime time.

I've placed this course many times and always enjoyed myself. This timr was absolutely frustrating. Very slow pace. Unacceptable. Marshalls tried to speed up play to no success. Not worth the time or money.

With the special I received a fair price for this golf course. A nice course but not spectacular. Staff was great however and the inclusion of range balls made the value good. I would not pay more than $65 for this course.

Second time playing this course and you need to be aware of shot placement. Target golf for the most part. I thought the greens were quick and small. Actually liked it's sister course Ambiente better!

We played with another couple in early afternoon, got good deal through GN. Course was in good shape, however very punishing. On several holes, we all lost our ball in the water as it would just roll right off the green and down a steep slope into the water. Found the round quite frustrating, as rarely rewarded for a good shot on .

This is a course not to be missed. Even from the whites a tought course lots of shots that can run off into trouble if not placed correctly. Probably better if you play it a couple of times. The only issue we had was pace of play, just short of 5 hours. You kind of know that you are in for it when the starter apologizes in advance for slow play but then, as far as I could see did nothing to change it. All in all though this is a track that I will try again, as it may just have been my lunch of the draw to follow a particular group.

I have played this course many times and yesterday i was shocked to see the condition of the greens...there was NO grass on them and they were all covered in green sand....i was told at check in that "the greens are fast so be above the hole"....well try putting on glass and that is what it was like.....total joke...apparently the grass never came in on the greens so they sprayed sand the color green to make it look good....rest of the course in great shape but stay away until they get GRASS to grow on the greens.....unless you like to 3 or 4 putt every green because there is no stopping the ball..........

Course was in great shape - the greens were about as good as they could get - rolling close to 12's
Only challenge was a few of the collars on the water edges on the green sides could be a little longer - few of my playing partners shots rolled into the hazard....

I REALLY ENJOYED IT AND WILL PLAY IT AGAIN.

A last minute decision to play the PADRE course and, for the time of the year, a very good rate. Of course, the check-in was pleasant and off to a great range to warm-up. The Padre was outlined by dormant grass making the Emerald green fairways look even greener!

The course was in remarkable condition and the greens like lightening. DO NOT, IF YOU ARE ABLE TO AVOID, GET ABOVE THE HOLE......wonderfully fast and true greens. (We asked the cart service if they knew the speed and they said that they are not given that information but they felt the PADRE was running at "11" and AMBIENTE, even faster.) Very well-kept bunkers. We found the course a wonderful upgrade from some of the other local popular courses. Pay bit more and play a beautiful course; incredibly maintained.

We are looking for another day and another good rate to get back.

While I prefer Ambiente, Padre offers a great golfing experience at a cheaper price. Although the rough is dried out because they didn't overseed that part of the course, the fairways and greens are in excellent condition; the best I have experience there. Recommended.

Great challenging course, one of my best rounds of the year so far. Everything was great, minus the greens. Seemed to almost be painted rather than growing real grass, they were hard as concrete and VERY very fast. Only other complaint was very poor sand traps, inconsistent sand and not recently raked.

Great course and was in great condition I highly recommend this to all golfers

Very welcoming. Nice explanation of the course. Courtesy range balls, complimentary water and cleaning towel were very nice. GPS was also very nice. When we had a slight interruption in play, we were offered more complimentary water. Course was beautiful and greens and tee boxes pristine. No excuse for my own poor play. Will play again

Greens were some of best from playing all year. Fairways were also in excellent shape. Challenging but fair and interesting layout.

Our threesome played in under 4 hours. The greens were slick and crown shaped so being on the low side was essential to make par. Diverse holes; fun course. We all thought the 123 slope from the white tees understated the difficulty for us 11 handicappers, but no complaints.

Played both courses and chose this course because my wife wanted to play and an opening occurred around noon; and no Packer game on this Sunday.
Course was in excellent conditions, greens putted very well. Fairways, wonderful shape. Staff Excellent especially Tom the Ranger (Guest Services). Wonderful man did his job and keep the slower groups ahead moving along in a nice way. Constantly appraised us of what was going on in front of us. We played ready golf and he noticed that and did his best to keep things moving. Wonderful man, great job Tom. Will play this course again as well as the other course. Well worth the time to play, had a great time. Choose the right tees for your game and you will enjoy this course.
