Rating 72.2

Arthur Hills designed the Padre Course at Camelback Golf Club to deliver a fun round that's tough to forget. Trees tower, landforms show subtly, and bunkers improve your golf skills. The par-72 golf course measures 6,903 yards, and has gained its renown by offering a design that requires strategy.

A round of golf on the Padre Course at the Camelback Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 446 yards from the black tees. Things get long on the fifth hole, a par 5 that comes in at 553 yards from the black tees, one of four 500-plus-yard holes. The 18th hole is one of these: It's 547 yards from the black tee to the post-round celebration.

After your round on the Padre Course at Camelback Golf Club, head to the Golf Grill, serving U.S. cuisine and a fancy Sunday brunch in the style of Southwestern country clubs. There's also a luxury lounge where you can spend winters on the patio by the fireplace.

Excellent staff and very attentive

The course was somewhat challenging due to the sand traps which I seemed to find too often. Fairways are mostly wide open. The course is in great shape both in the fairways and the greens.
Again the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

outstanding course

These folks know how to treat you right, 1st class all the way! The course was in excellent condition with HUGE fast greens. Plenty long from the white tees and plenty of water to keep you on your toes. We played as a 3 some and finished our round in under 4 hours. Excellent bargain with the "hot deals" from Golfnow. Will play this course again next visit to Scottsdale.

Excellent Parkland Setting In The Desert

The Padre course is an old mature course offering an excellent variety of challenges. Equally challenging long and short par fours requiring accuracy off the tee and well thought out approaches. The greens were somewhat firm but receptive, with subtle slopes and breaks, local knowledge is a definite asset here. They rolled true and were about 10 1/2 on the stempmeter. I had a couple birdies, a couple 3-putts, (ugh) shot 75 from the Whites. A very good day for a 66 year old 6 HDCP .

Breakfast treat

somehow, staff remembered my name - very impressive. Coffee & breakfast sandwich excellent;
paired with 3 interesting guys; flowers in full bloom; course in fine shape; greens a bit uneven in speed.

Convenient and challenging course

Over the past 13 years I've played Camelback Padre often and it's weathered well despite being over 50 years old. There is a lot of variety and challenging depending on the tees played. Great range and practice facility although the range needs more distance markers. Overall good course!

Nice Facility

Nice course, very well kept, maintenance is excellent. Course is in generally nice shape with minimal dry areas. The course is relatively easy but enjoyable to play. The surrounding scenery is very nice. Suggest that it should properly be priced in the $75-85 range. Golfnow prices over $100 are not justifiable for this facility.

good warm up round

played from the black tees but fairways and greens are hard so it plays much shorter.
Nothing to special about the course. Paid a very low green fee after 3pm. Some greens are pretty tricky and couple par 3's are difficult.
