Camelback Golf Club - Padre Course
About
Arthur Hills designed the Padre Course at Camelback Golf Club to deliver a fun round that's tough to forget. Trees tower, landforms show subtly, and bunkers improve your golf skills. The par-72 golf course measures 6,903 yards, and has gained its renown by offering a design that requires strategy.
A round of golf on the Padre Course at the Camelback Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 446 yards from the black tees. Things get long on the fifth hole, a par 5 that comes in at 553 yards from the black tees, one of four 500-plus-yard holes. The 18th hole is one of these: It's 547 yards from the black tee to the post-round celebration.
After your round on the Padre Course at Camelback Golf Club, head to the Golf Grill, serving U.S. cuisine and a fancy Sunday brunch in the style of Southwestern country clubs. There's also a luxury lounge where you can spend winters on the patio by the fireplace.

Amazing course
My favorite course in the Phoenix area. Very well maintained and staff was extremely friendly. Can't wait to play again.
Beautiful course with nice scenery and some challenging holes
This course has nice facilities and a convenient location. Course has a mix of challenges. Very well maintained.
Convenient and challenging course
Over the past 13 years I've played Camelback Padre often and it's weathered well despite being over 50 years old. There is a lot of variety and challenging depending on the tees played. Great range and practice facility although the range needs more distance markers. Overall good course!
Nice Facility
Nice course, very well kept, maintenance is excellent. Course is in generally nice shape with minimal dry areas. The course is relatively easy but enjoyable to play. The surrounding scenery is very nice. Suggest that it should properly be priced in the $75-85 range. Golfnow prices over $100 are not justifiable for this facility.
good test
Great change from the desert courses. More like a northern course. Greens were hard and quick.
Wide Open
Good course. Fun to play for beginners and casual golfers. It's fairly wide open and forgiving.
good warm up round
played from the black tees but fairways and greens are hard so it plays much shorter.
Nothing to special about the course. Paid a very low green fee after 3pm. Some greens are pretty tricky and couple par 3's are difficult.
Padre course was in excellent condition
Great pace of play and conditions! Recommend playing a club short and running it up to pin placements-greens very firm and rolling quick.
Friendly staff as well!
Great greens
The greens were amazing!! Rolled perfectly. Not a very difficult course but lots of fun to play! Great warm up course
Fun day
Staff professional, friendly and courteous Course fun to play. Cart GPS was helpful as this was our first time playing this course. Would play this course again
NICE COURSE
NO OFFENSE TO THE PADRE COURSE
VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD COURSE, NOTHING FANCY AND NOTHING MEMORABLE.
I WOULD SAY NOT WORTH THE RATE I PAID (97$)
BUT,
IF YOU WANT TO PLAY A GOOD WARM UP COURSE THEN THIS IS THE ONE. IT WAS IN GOOD SHAPE AND GREENS SMOOTH AND ROLLED GOOD
DROP THE RATE TO 50-60$ .
STAFF VERY FRIENDLY
Condition
Got a discounted rate thru golf now, so the price was more reasonable than normal rack rate. the fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Seems Ambiente had an impact on Padre. Would recommend
Padre in great shape
The staff were very welcoming, pleasant and helpful..makes for a great start to the round..I have played here several times over the years and the conditions are the best I can recall. The course is a good challenge and experience for all. I got a good rate through Golf Now.
Great Day
The golf course was in great condition. The staff was the best. My friend flew in from New Jersey he was very impressed with the facilities and staff.
Nice course, could use a marshal
Nice course, fun on most holes, some are a challenge. could use a marshal that paid attention. We were close to sundown at the end of our round and finished in the dark. Should have had plenty of time.
Different course but fun to play
We played the padre course This was a great fun course to play with all the dormant grass around the fairways. Greens were unreal and the fairways were nice and firm so your ball got a great roll .Lots of different holes which makes it intresting I would highly recommend it to anyone of all levels.
Perfect day
The course was very nice and well worth the money. Carts, gps, and range were also very nice and well designed.
Bad experience
Had a round over 4 hours 40 minutes, and paired with a 10 year old. Was frustrated and annoyed and spent way too much money to be feeling that way. Didn't see a course marshal until the 15th hole and he claimed - impolitely by the way - that the group in front of us was on pace, even though they were more than 2 holes behind. We were told that we were playing with a junior golfer who was escorted by his grandfather. The young man was an excellent little player, but his grandfather didn't know the game so there was talking, cart in the wrong place, etc. Understandably, he got a little bored because the pace was slow and was putting balls across the green while we were playing and was playing around in the sand. I don't blame him at all - he's 10 years old.. it was poor judgement to have him out there on such a busy day. It was made worse by the slow pace. We could have brushed off either one of those circumstances alone, but together it made for a bad experience.
The golf pro gave us his card and said to call next time and he " would take care of it", but that fell short of taking my name to make sure there would be a credit, or better, give me a partial refund on the over $300 it cost for the two of us to play.
The course was in good condition, but the holes are all very similar. The homes lining the course were more interesting than the terrain. Would not go back - probably won't even try to redeem my supposed credit. We play alot of golf around Scottsdale. This is off the list.
Slow pace of play!
A potentially great experience was spoiled by having to play behind a slow scramble tournament.
