Verrado Golf Club - Founders Course
About
John Fought and Tom Lehman collaborated on the course at Verrado Golf Club, a voluptuous design that meanders through the old Caterpillar bulldozer proving grounds. It's up and down for 18 holes and that doesn't mean "chip and a putt." The course is good test with chances to score and a handful of memorable and scenic holes.
Where Verrado Golf Course will eat you alive is in the bunkers. Some bunkers are hard to carry, others collect wayward shots. But the fairways are wide enough to avoid trouble, and what appears to be the safe shot off the tee will often bring greenside bunkers more into play. So pick your poison.
While the back nine is far superior to the front, going out still has its fair share of memorable holes. A huge boulder 30 feet tall on the par-4 eighth jets out from the left side around which the fairway shapes itself. A perfect line from the tee box is to take the ball five yards right off its edge, but hitting the boulder is certain death by desert. The boulder was scheduled to crumble via dynamite, but stood up to the TNT and was deemed an immoveable object. Open and playable for all skill levels, the Verrado Golf Club is a sublime experience.

Golfer Reviews
Way over priced for the conditions
Course was in very poor condition for the price of green fees
Tee boxes were dead. Fairways were dead
Greens were very patchy in many locations
This course needs some help with course management and green fee prices
You will lose balls
Beautiful course but many hazards and you will lose balls
Course looks rough
Looks like they have some disease taking over some fairways and tee boxes. Greens were bumpy as well. Overall love the views and the summer prices.
Always enjoyable
Because of the cool temperatures, this year, the transition into Solid Bermuda growth pattern have hurt the greens so they were really bumpy and spotty.
Still for sure one of the top 10 courses in the valley
Awesome conditions
First time but not last time to play here! Staff from start to finish were excellent! Very friendly and accommodating!
Course is in good shape right now. Only negative had nothing to do with course or staff-we had a group hit into us until we finally let them go by us. They were then met with the group in front of us so I don’t know what they accomplished.
One of the ladies I was playing with got a hole in one on the par 3 17th ! What a highlight to see that!!!
Such a Beautiful Course
Definitely Recommend - Great Southwest Course - You'll Love IT!!!!
Fast greens
Greens were super fast and did not hold ball well. Sparse in some areas. Must be trying a new seed or grass. Otherwise course was in great shape. Pace was awesome. Beverage cart service was great
Do not play here
Greens are absolutely terrible. The cost for this course is outrageous for the conditions it’s in. Even the guys at the end mentioned that members have been complaining about the course conditions. Do not waste your money here.
