Verrado Golf Club - Founders Course

About
John Fought and Tom Lehman collaborated on the course at Verrado Golf Club, a voluptuous design that meanders through the old Caterpillar bulldozer proving grounds. It's up and down for 18 holes and that doesn't mean "chip and a putt." The course is good test with chances to score and a handful of memorable and scenic holes.
Where Verrado Golf Course will eat you alive is in the bunkers. Some bunkers are hard to carry, others collect wayward shots. But the fairways are wide enough to avoid trouble, and what appears to be the safe shot off the tee will often bring greenside bunkers more into play. So pick your poison.
While the back nine is far superior to the front, going out still has its fair share of memorable holes. A huge boulder 30 feet tall on the par-4 eighth jets out from the left side around which the fairway shapes itself. A perfect line from the tee box is to take the ball five yards right off its edge, but hitting the boulder is certain death by desert. The boulder was scheduled to crumble via dynamite, but stood up to the TNT and was deemed an immoveable object. Open and playable for all skill levels, the Verrado Golf Club is a sublime experience.

Great course and conditions, friendly staff. Green on #14 particularly hard to stop the ball.
Beautiful views! Beautiful layout!
Overall the course was in pretty good shape. Most fairways & tee boxes were in very good shape. Although the greens were a bit hard & dried out.
Long round
Group introduced at the 10th tee that made for a 5.5 hour round
Nice Day to Play
The course was in great shape for this time of year. They just came off cart path only so it was nice. Weather was great, the staff was helpful and friendly.
Driving range was small but folks moved along quickly so we didn't wait too long.
Founders course
Love this course. From the greeting you get when you arrive to the clubs getting cleaned after the round, great experience and wonderful staff.

I have rediscovered the Verrado Founders course after several years of not playing it.
I am glad i did as i thoroughly enjoy it.
A great feeling course from the spectacular vistas, the interesting and challenging layout and the fine conditions and staff.
you wont be disappointed.

Much to slow
We teed off at 1.42 as a two ball . It was slow but manageable until we reached the 12th hole where there were four groups trying to play the hole . From arrival at the tee box we waited 20 minutes before teeing off . At the 13th same problem . The people behind us gave up and returned to the club house. After waiting for 10 minutes we did the same . Cart path only and should have been bigger gaps between tee times It’s a shame because it’s a nice course
Great course
Would have given higher ratings but the round took 5+ hours. It was cart path only, which Golf Now failed to identify, but still should not have taken that long. There was a course Marshall, but he did nothing to hurry things up. And Golf Now has to do a much better job of identifying conditions like cart path only
