Just bad
Rough made the round unbearable. Don’t hit the fairway? Good luck finding your ball. Have to search minimum of 3-5 minutes to find your ball every shot.
Took over 5 hours to play the round with best ball scramble. Sad!
First Time
For the GOLFNOW price this was a nice course. Yet, I would wait until better maintenance of the fairways and rough takes place. I understand FL rain can make mowing a challenge but after playing over 100 courses in central FL Northdale has not met the challenge.
Sad to see
The course is in the worst shape it’s ever been in the last 2 decades. They’re not even trying at this point. I used to play here religiously but to see what it’s become since new management took over is down right embarrassing.
Don’t pay $40 or even $30. It should be a $19 round until they can operate a mower, and the greens which have been airated for some 3mos now return.
And yes, we’ve had rain, but so has every course in Tampa. This tracks just an exceedingly awful 5hours of a way to spend your life now.
Rough
rough was so high could not find the fairway. green recently punched and very slow. Will be better after week with no rain
Typically Excellent
I can explain my complaints, but first I will say this is typically one of the best value courses in the area. Generally the greens are exceptional at this price point and the course has a fun layout.
Cons, it has been raining a ton, and I think the course doesn't drain well. So, it was a swamp today. Also, they recently punched the greens which you have to accept as a common practice. However, I think the course should have provided better discounted rated given the condition of the greens. Also, the rough was a mess, but that may have been due to the rain, and no chance to mow.
All in all, I am still a fan of the course as it is usually a great value. I would just check recent reviews on course conditions. .
Course In VERY BAD shape
The roughs are severely overgrown. Seems as if not much maintenance has been put into the course. The cart paths have pot holes bigger than the ones I’ve seen in the worst alleys of Tampa. It could be a very beautiful course if they’d just put some TLC into it. The greens rolled nicely and were the highlight of the course. Fairways were decent, but the overgrown grass literally EVERYWHERE else really deteriorated the overall experience. I’d definitely try it again after they mowed and did some repairs, until then I’ll stay away.
Play Somewhere Else
The rough was ridiculously high. Granted there has been some light rain in recent days but not enough to justify the height of the rough. You could be standing over your ball and not see it. Also, the cart paths need to be fixed badly.
Course
The corse had such high grass in the rough that we had a had time finding our balls. Didn’t know the bathroom code and almost got locked inside. No toilet paper in the ladies bathroom. Some of the cart paths we in very poor condition. I’ve played there a lot over the years and this was the worst for the price
Decent day of golf
The groundskeeper did a great job making sure the fairways and greens were in good condition. Unfortunately I spend a lot of time outside of those areas and it was thick, wet, and rough out there! Not much you can do with Florida summer rainfall but made for a frustrating round at times. The cart path needs some serious help in spots as well. Very friendly staff and pace of play was incredible too.
Don’t Go
The old GM (Dan) left, and this place is now left to people who don’t know what they’re doing. There’s no point in playing this course until the new owners leave or bring in someone who knows what they’re doing. STAY AWAY!!!
Continue to skip this one
I had been avoiding this course for few months because new ownership had let it slide way downhill... Well it is even worse now because the nice friendly people in the pro shop weren't there & checking was a huge pain. Out on the course the greens are better, but that is where it ends. The entire rest of the course is TRASH! These new owners obviously don't have the cash to run a golf course, so just forget this place until they go completely broke. Maybe the next folks will have deeper pockets.
Lack of Maintenance !!!!!!!!!!!!
They only have 4 maintenance people for the whole course. Rough is super rough and very high. Grass cutters working right next to us playing.
Great Layout……Needs work
The course layout is super fun. Fairways and greens are ok. Both need work. Rough is exactly that…….rough af. I’m talking about leaving behind a ball you know is in play but can’t find it no matter how hard you look.
Karen on the cart and at the bar is awesome. If she leaves………so does everyone.
Poor condition
The entire course needs some tender love and care !
