About
Northdale Golf & Tennis Club remains one of the premier Tampa golf courses because of its affordable play, its use of water on 11 of 18 holes, bunkers, rolling undulations and contoured greens that really challenge players. Just 12 miles north of Tampa International Airport, this is a neighborhood golf course with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that will add to the enjoyment of your day. Decent day of golf
The groundskeeper did a great job making sure the fairways and greens were in good condition. Unfortunately I spend a lot of time outside of those areas and it was thick, wet, and rough out there! Not much you can do with Florida summer rainfall but made for a frustrating round at times. The cart path needs some serious help in spots as well. Very friendly staff and pace of play was incredible too.
Don’t Go
The old GM (Dan) left, and this place is now left to people who don’t know what they’re doing. There’s no point in playing this course until the new owners leave or bring in someone who knows what they’re doing. STAY AWAY!!!
Continue to skip this one
I had been avoiding this course for few months because new ownership had let it slide way downhill... Well it is even worse now because the nice friendly people in the pro shop weren't there & checking was a huge pain. Out on the course the greens are better, but that is where it ends. The entire rest of the course is TRASH! These new owners obviously don't have the cash to run a golf course, so just forget this place until they go completely broke. Maybe the next folks will have deeper pockets.
Lack of Maintenance !!!!!!!!!!!!
They only have 4 maintenance people for the whole course. Rough is super rough and very high. Grass cutters working right next to us playing.
Great Layout……Needs work
The course layout is super fun. Fairways and greens are ok. Both need work. Rough is exactly that…….rough af. I’m talking about leaving behind a ball you know is in play but can’t find it no matter how hard you look.
Karen on the cart and at the bar is awesome. If she leaves………so does everyone.
Poor condition
The entire course needs some tender love and care !
review
Northdale Golf course is in fine condition; the fairways are cut short and the greens are fast.....the only problem is if you stray a shot, the rough is high and it will be tough to hit a ball back out into play....Also, the sand traps should be avoided as they are hard and full of weeds.....There is also plenty of water hazards on the course to make your round interesting, even from the Gold tees......
Single Round Review
Cut the grass!!! The course is challenging enough but the difference in grass cuts is too much. We expect there to be "rough" in areas near out of bounds, water, etc., but to be unable to find your ball in the 2nd cut of the fairway is ridiculous. Then, IF you find it, you have to try to hit it. Not a pleasant second shot and made for some difficult holes & high scores. The poor lawn maintenance will keep us away until it's corrected. Also, the grass conditions made your rating fair instead of good.
Course conditions were not very good
The staff was very friendly.
The Tee boxes were in bad shape.
The fairways were in decent shape.
The rough was in very bad shape… I understand it’s called the “rough” for a reason; however, the grass just on the edge of the fairway was so incredibly long at some areas it was literally impossible to see your ball. While looking for my ball I found about 30+ balls between 3 holes…
Not sure if the long grass is due to it raining 4/5 days prior, but it was out of control.
Saturday at Northdale
The course was in average shape. The greens were very nice. the fairways were weedy and the ruff needed mowing badly.
The worst problem was the pace of play was terrible. 5 Hours! The ranger did nothing to push people along or ask twosomes to combine! Bad course management.
Also, there was no cart person and the restaurant was closed on the turn. We will not be back anytime soon.
Last minute
Great option for a last minute round. Some fairways were a bit dicey but nothing major
North dale golf course
Best course experience in Florida. Played in the mid afternoon heat and got around under 2.5 hours! Not the 4 to 5 hours the last two courses were! Staff was great bar restaurant personal were fantastic. Enjoyed everything! Rough might have been trimmed but that is all!
