Fast Greens
It was a great day to play golf. The course was pretty dry. The greens were quite fast. I like fast greens. A couple of greens had some disease on them. #1 was the worst and when I got there I was hoping the rest of the course wasn't as bad, It wasn't. There were only 2 greens I remember having problems. I think the guy cutting the pin placements was being funny. On #8, the pin was at the top of a ridge. If you missed the hole, it rolled 15 feet to the edge of the green and then 5 feet off the green. LOL It was like the US Open.
There were a couple of tee boxes that could be improved. One of them was mostly dirt and another had a big crown.
All in all, it was a great time. I will be back
Course in good shape
Course is in good shape and staff is always very friendly! Beware of the greens are very very quick!
Staff is Rude and Lie!
DON’T play at this course! Our threesome had a 10:06 tee time but starter kept saying we had a 10:15 because he put a fourth with us that had a 10:15. You don’t push our tee time, he joins our 10:06. Then they added a group of 5 foursomes and put them in front of us.
Why even have tee times if they refused to honor them. I went inside to speak to manager but he wasn’t there. Front desk said they started at 9:00 because of the cold. Fake news, it only got down to 44 degrees. On the turn, foursome in bar said they started at 6:30. Manager should not hire liars.
Northdale has improved since last time we played it about 18 months ago. They have made the greens smaller tee boxes and fairways improved.
Bar and kitchen are open. Plan to go back a few times this winter!
Nice layout/Great value
The course is in very good condition aside from rookie golfers who don’t repair ball marks on the green. The greens are fast but fair and consistent from green to green.
Ok course for the money
Greens weren’t in the best shape nor the tee boxes. Pace was extremely slow.
There are a handful of holes that still need some work on the greens but overall not a bad place to play for the price in Tampa. We tee’d off pretty early so our pace of play was great but when finishing it looked like the back nine was stacked with groups.
Overpriced
Paying $60+ per person on a course that used to be max $35-40 person during prime season a few years ago is unfortunate. You’d assume paying $60 person for playing would have gps in the cart, but they did not. Clubhouse was in poor condition… bathrooms didn’t look they were cleaned from the day before and were out of toilet paper at 6:50 in the morning. Last but not least, they were definitely overbooked.
On the bright side, the greens were in good shape, along with the majority of tee boxes. Staff was friendly. I’d play there again, but not more than $40.
Brutally Slow
Overall the course was in decent condition. The tee boxes were level and the fairways and rough were mowed to an appropriate height. The greens had a lot of dead areas and rolled incredibly slow; everyone in our group was leaving every putt short despite hitting them firm. The biggest issue though was the pace of play. The starter ( who was friendly and polite) let two groups of 5 go out right before us. Because of this, our group of four was waiting on every shot all day on a round that took over 5 hours. The group behind us was repeatedly hitting into us. The icing on the cake was the ringer came by and asked us what time we teed off and growled (yes, a literal growl like a dog) at us for the pace while the group in front of was still in hitting distance while he was talking to us. He then drove by and growled a couple of other times throughout the round, while doing nothing about the two groups of 5 that were holding everything up.
The course is coming back.
The course is in pretty good shape after the cleanup after the storms. The pace was great. The staff is always very friendly. Great layout.

Absolute dog track
New owners are driving it into the ground, course conditions continue to detonate. Obvious money is not being put back into the facility.
It’s getting better!
The course conditions continue to improve.
The layout is good and the course challenging.
Happy to see it bouncing back. Still a lot of storm damaged trees around the perimeter, but it did not affect our round.
