Ancil Hoffman Golf Course

This is a beautiful course that is well groomed, lots of beautiful trees line the course.

I've golfed Ancil Hoffman for many years. The playing conditions were fantastic! The greens were smooth and fast. Given the time of year and recent weather, they were much better than anticipated. Very few blemishes or divot marks although we did repair a number of divots, that was due to other golfers not being very considerate. Fairways and roughs were well mowed and in fantastic condition as well!

I have been playing this course most of my life. I have always loved the layout and enjoyed playing here. However, I have never seen the course in the shape it is in right now. It is absolutely perfect. I can't wait to play here again.

Course was in very good conditions. Greens running with good speed and smooth. Pace of play very good, finished in 4 hours.

Great conditions for the time of year. Pace of play on the front nine was slow, but we breezed through the back nine as several groups dropped out at the turn.

Greens ran fast with some tough pin placements that were hard to read with the low December light.

The staff and amenities were great and I appreciated that they had a beverage cart running!

The layout of this course was awesome! Super fun and challenging. Lots of trees on the course so keep it straight! Narrow fairways and pretty quick greens! Courses was in amazing shape! No drinking water on the course so be sure to bring drinks. But other than that I can’t wait to come back!

Such a great piece of property and a wonderful track overall. Pace of play typically poor. Especially in the afternoons.Too bad the employees there seem like they’re on court ordered work detention. Bad attitudes mostly. I say if you hate your job that much give it up to somebody who can appreciate it

Had a nice time. Came early and was able to tee off right away. Had to wait on every hole but that happens when a twosome is following a foursome...4 1/2 hour round....

This course has plenty of tree lined fairways. The distance was also very challenging. Very nice setting with plenty of wildlife. Starter was a little testy

I enjoyed my round. I wish I would have golfed here sooner. Late summer in Sacramento is harsh on courses as most are battling crab grass and dwindling greens. AH was better than most and at $10 and so close to me, I will be playing it again!!

This was am awesome course. I had never been to Sacramento. The course is a municipal and was awesome. I played from the tips and my hands were full. I joined 3 other gentlemen who had played there often and when they found out it was my first time on Ancil, they stated I was going to get my moneys worth. They were not kidding. Lots of old growth and tee boxes that were super tight. Fairways were also really tight. You should bring your "A" game to be successful here. I did not have my "A" game on that day. In all it was a great time and I would play the course again for sure! There were Turkeys everywhere on this course. I guess this is a norm for all of Sacramento.

I like this course, but there are no water coolers out there and the cart girl came around may be twice during our round. Luckily it was not really hot, but on a hot day, your own water supply runs out fast.

I've been playing here since the 70's and it's in about the best condition I've seen it in a long time. Trees are starting to make some of the holes nearly impossible to play, so a little tree trimming would be nice. Other than that, keep up the good work!

I had remembered that there weee a lot of trees and the course was ok. The trees are still all there but the fairways and greens were beautifully maintained. Only blemish of the day was the greens mower leaked oil on 4 greens in the back 9..

Pace of play excellent. Service was great behind the bar and the cart with refreshments on the course.

Great place to play when temps are in the 100's. Lots of shade.
