Under maintenance
Many of the greens were punched, the ball bounced accrossed the greens. The fairways are unplayable; preferred lies are the norm here.
Just not worth the money
$75 for this course is about double what it should be. Greens are always nice but fairways and tee boxes are always very bad. #15 was closed for renovation when I was there and multiple fairways were just dirt. Course layout is good.
Terrible Conditions
Several of the fairways were under serious repair. The first whole had two tractors and two gardener carts driving on it and we were instructed by the starter to hit into them anyways. The 15th hole had a green with dirt patches all over it which was cut in the middle of the fairway. It was a 90 year hole that they just cut in the fairway. Many of the holes had dirt next to the green where there should have been rough. It should be noted when you book this course that most of it is under repair. I would 100% not play this course again.
Course under renovation
Wasn't excited to see tractors actively aerating the fairways on a number of holes as I was waiting to tee off. Number of other fairways and cart paths were being actively torn up during the round as well. Tee boxes have recently been rebuilt with new sod (not overseeded). Greens were all in fantastic condition (other than one being renovated). Will be interested in playing again once fairway renovations are completed.
Slow
It was very slow today at 5.5 hours for 18. There was a fivesome two groups ahead that had at least a hole open between them and next group. It was a nice day so could be worse right?
Overpriced course and driving range.
Not sure if they are trying to come off as some prestige course because of the area, or just clueless, but this place is way over priced for what you get. It's not a half bad layout, but there are plenty of other courses in this part of Orange County that are significantly better kept and cheaper to play.
Firsr off, is the pace of play. It can be downright atrocious. I don't understand why it can take 5 to 7 hours to play a round here. I understand that this is an extremely populated area; however, there are other courses within a 15 to 20 minute minute drive where you don't have to deal with the snail's pace of play and offer a much better experience.
Lastly, we come to the driving range. My God, the balls are basically smoothed over and half of the shots I hit flale like a lame duck. The practice facility itself is actually one of the better ones in the area. So, if you come here to chip or use the practice bunker for free, it is actually quite excellent. But, the driving range is overpriced for a machine dispensing bucket of balls (17 bucks for a mat). If they would just put a little money into getting a better quality range ball, it would be worth it, but until then there are better options close by. Still, this place is right next to my house so if I am in a pinch, I will come here but only if I have the time to tool around in the chipping/ bunker practice area.
Improving course
The new owners are improving the course including RE-doing several of the tee boxes. Should continue to get better as work goes along
Getting Better
New owners are investing some money into the course. Greens in good shape. Tboxes and fairways in rough shape.
After Joe Six-Pack course
Was expecting a little better conditions than what we experienced. Understanding that So Cal is in a drought, seemed as though the fairways were awfully dry/cracked due to lack of water. Greens were fantastic! I understand that they will be going through a renovation and we might try it again after that process has been completed.
Trash
Course is absolute trash. They’re supposedly redoing the bar. Why not figure out how to grow grass? Pipe one down the fairway to hit off straight dirt. Waste of 75$. Only reason I went was because the wife was busy. It’s a tragedy you all charge that much.
