This Course is Not Fun
I do not recommend this course. The reviews are very positive and I don’t know why. This course has a really silly design. I should have known when I asked the starter if he played the course much and he said no never. I wouldn’t either if I worked there. I will probably never go back. Staff is friendly, course is manicured well but the course layout is a total joke. Golf options in San Jose are really bad which is why I’m guessing this place gets good reviews but avoid San Jose all together and play in Monterey or the East Bay or South Bay for some good courses.
It’s a very interesting and challenging course with astonishing views. The course is in very good conditions. I really enjoy playing in the course.
Beautiful views
Challenging course. Greens are fast and undulating. Near perfect conditions. Do not play here unless you are a strong intermediate as there are many good players here who set a quick pace of play.

California Challenge in the Hills
Every hole has a strategic shot or 2 to plan before you even pull the trigger. Great setting, Great conditions, nothing else to say, but I’ll be back.
Great shape
Course was in great shape. Greens were firm and fast and rolled true.
Fun track
Great conditions and interesting layout. Greens were firm and fast but pins were not put in good spots given the 20 mph wind. They should take high wind into consideration before putting a pin where you have no chance of getting to it. Nevertheless, would definitely play it again. I did not get to use much of the practice facilities but they looked comprehensive and well maintained. Aside from the obvious big swing breaks on side hills, overall the greens don’t break as much as you might think.
Spectacular course, tees for all skill levels. You MUST drive the ball accurately!! Just a great 75° sunny day. Teamed up with 3 guys that play there alot! Gave me some tips on the angles to play, and not to play. We did have some wind on a few holes too. Had to Club up!
