9th hole on Canyon. One of the most picturesque holes on the course. Tough hole that plays into the wind. Photo submitted by aliikane10 on 07/14/2017

Cinnebar Hills
The day was beautiful, the course was beautiful. Maybe too beautiful-making 18 was doubtful and because of the heavy play and later start time, it was impossible. Played the Lakes 9 which was very challenging. I played with two locals who helped with some of the surprises the course offered. Had my B game that day which translated to lots of B-ogies. My two partners quit after nine which left me behind four foursomes. I played the first hole, then jumped ahead and played the last four on the Canyons nine, which were spectacular.
Regardless had a fine time at a beautiful facility. A bit of a drive, but worth it.
Every hole picturesque.
Course in great shape, greens Where semi quick but very fair, rolled true
Great challenging course beginners should pass
A very nice golf course out in the boonies. Nice facilities. Very challenging yet pretty. Beginners should avoid or use the closer tees to have an enjoyable experience. One of the best deals in the bay area on golfnow. Hilly so take an extra club for more GRIs. Greens roll true. Keep pace and bring plenty of balls.
Great conditions , great pace
We landed in SAN Jose and didn't make the course until 2:00pm. Paid $10 more for 18 hoping to get in 15 given the sunsets at 5. Staff send us (twosome) off the lower used course and we ended up playing 18 in 2:41. Great pace - it was a Monday - and nice staff. Greens were in great shape.
Lack Wifi
It was a great outing. We've played Canyon-Mountain course. The staff were friendly and they even had a vending golf cart to service drinks/food.
But....
I was surprised that this course is not listed in Golf Now score keeper and WIFI on the course for iPhone connectivity was not available through out the course (In the heart of Silicon Valley?). Golf cart was equipped with a score keeper but I wasn't sure how to transfer this data to my personal electronic score keeper.
Challenging course
Beautiful course that is challenging and fun. Very well maintained despite being in the middle of a dry area.
Gardners are a pain
I've played this course many times. I truly love this course I come all the way from daily city. The only problem I have with this facility, is that the gardeners have no concern for any of the players. While we were there , The person I was playing with with getting ready to Chip, and a gardener came up and put a hose right across the fairway in front of him 10 yards ahead of him right across where he had a chip. As we were coming up to the next Teebox a gardener was flooding the Teebox with water! Looking at us almost as if he was mocking us knowing we didn't want that. He stopped for a brief moment while we were slipping all over the place on the Teebox ! I looked at him and he just smiled. Other than that, This is truly a nice course, but I hope this message reaches the staff and they can correct the gardeners and they would show teach them to have a little bit of commonsense while people are playing, and paying the high dollar amount for this course!
Great golf course
Played the Lake and the Canyon, Fun to play with different layout every holes. Nice view on the hill of Canyon 8th and 9th.
Course is in great shape
The course is in great shape, greens smooth and fast yet receptivve to approach shots, fairway lush and green and pace of play was as fast. Great day at Cinnabar!
Awesome course!
Even though we are in a drought, the course is beautiful! Well maintained and friendly staff! Highly recommend this course to anyone.
Bad Staff attitude
Needed to right something because with all the courses closing you might want to stay away and not patronize this course because of there customer service. Really bad experience which dampened the whole day from the start with an employee ( Nick ) I think his last name was Hong. There was no starter on the first hole and the twosome in front of us told us to go because they wanted to enjoy themselves and take there time. Meanwhile the Person (NICK) walked up and asked us our starting time which we told him that the other twosome told us to go first. He said we could not go when we wanted to and we explained that we discussed this with the other twosome and no starter was there nor was there any announcement. He was very rude and then proceeded to say the other two were golfers. I guess we were out there just to ride around. Anyway I am still boiling and should of just put the person down a notch or two. Sorry for the venting but this place should value customers and there are a lot of other places to play. There is no repercussions for there actions and it will be a better place if they could learn from this and be better. The only way they would change is if we stop going there to so them that we are to people who keep them in business and give them job. Thank You all for reading this. Hope nobody else would have to be treated like that.
Great layout, superb conditions
Played in the afternoon, hilly but very playable and scenic
Great course
Con bar hills is a great course. 3 sets of nine holes. Mountain course is challenging. Canyon course is relatively easy.
Great happy hour!
Pace of play turned out to be a little slow, but a fun course to play, especially the Canyon 9 holes.
A hilly golf heaven on the south side of San Jose
I'm excited to know that such a great golf facility is just six miles from my new house in south San Jose.
Architect John Harbottle III designed a versatile golf course with three different nines. The property is hidden in glorious hills with sweeping elevations. No homes or traffic noise spoil the natural surroundings. The Lake is supposed to be the toughest, although I found it thoroughly enjoyable and playable, almost shooting par. The Canyon has a couple of quirky holes - the par-5 sixth hole is a twisting mess of hazards and the par-4 seventh climbs straight skyward - but the reward is the view from the elevated ninth tee.
The clubhouse serves good food and houses tons of golf memorabilia collected by course owner Lee Brandenburg over the years - life-size replicas of every major golf trophy, Chip Beck's and Al Geiberger's clubs when the two shot 59 and dozens of old photos, magazines and clubs.
Cinnabar Hills will likely be my go-to place to play for a long time.
Good staff!
Overall a good experience.
Amazing....
its really the poppy ridge of San Jose but I would have to say I even enjoy it more.Certainly more challenging and all three courses are distinctly different. It was a little windy that really makes all the difference on the canyon course but still a remarkable course to play in any condition.Beverage girl was always around within a couple holes which is amazing considering the area she must cover(some golf course I only see them once or twice a round).Everything was perfect the last 9 holes I only saw a single in front of me the hole 9 holes no one behind.
Beautiful Course!
Visiting from out of state, found this gem and had to give it a shot. One of the finest courses I have played.
