Walk in the footsteps of pros at the Inverrary Country Club. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the golf courses at this club.
The legendary East Course is the signature course, where 15 PGA and LPGA tournaments were played including the Honda, the Jackie Gleason - Inverrary Classics, the Tournament Players Championship and the LPGA Phar-Mor Classic.
It is in excellent condition and is characterized by large, rolling greens, multiple tees, strategically placed bunkers, and lots of water. Its length from the championship tees is over 7100 yards.
The 7th hole is frequently mentioned as among the best par threes in Florida. Playing 199 yards from the back tee, it's all carry over water to a green that is angled in such a way as to look far smaller than it is in reality.

Very nice greens
Greens in great shape, nice layout, but the rest of the course conditions are disappointing.
Not bad
Given the time of year, the course was in pretty good shape. The greens were in very good condition. The only issue was it was very busy, which resulted in a 5 hour round, which wasn't fun, just draining. It was an in-season, weekend tee time, that probably contributed to the slow round,
Fast greens
The course is in great shape. Very fast and well manicured greens. Great for the cost
Far better than the last time!
Very enjoyable day at Inverarry. Pace of play was incredible, greens were in great shape and rolled true .. fairways were generally good considering the amount of play this course receives. Always a good place to trace the footsteps of "the greats"
Water water everywhere
Nice course. Fairways cut tight greens fast. Lots of water. Thoroughly enjoyed the course.
Great greens
The greens were very fast and true championship greens just loved every thing about the course can't wait until I play it again. what A GREAT layout how could it not be it was designed by Robert Trent Jones. If your down this way it's a must course to play don't pass it up you'll be sorry. Cart paths sand traps and parking lot need upgrading
Fun day
Lots of fun and enjoyed the upgrades to the course
Fun and good condition
Fun course, fair greens. Weather was very windy which added another challenge. Will be back.
Historic Course Needs Attention
Was a grand course in it's heyday (1970's-Jackie Gleason Invitational). Course layout is nice, but cart paths need repair and no drinking water on the course that I found. Staff friendly and helpful but pushed us out to the first tee a bit early, so it was slow going for the front 9. Clubhouse is tired and needs renovations.
Fantastic greens!
I saw some of the club's accolades while researching golf courses in the Ft Lauderdale online and decided to give this one a try. The East Course (which I played) hosted what is now The Honda Classic for many years, and Jack Nicklaus won The Players Championship here before that event was moved to TPC Sawgrass. So needless to say it was cool to experience a course with such a fascinating history!
The course itself was a truly unique and visually interesting layout. It was fairly generous of the tee, but trouble loomed on wayward approach shots. There was a lot of bunkering and water to keep you thinking about every shot. It featured a good variety of par 3's and par 5's. And the greens were EXCELLENT. Beautifully manicured, smooth as glass and LIGHTNING fast. What a treat! And for the price (under $50) you couldn't ask for much more.
If you are planning to play golf in the Ft Lauderdale area anytime soon, give this semi-private gem a try! You won't be disappointed!
Averag for this time of the year
Greens had good speed in them! Bunkers were "locked" down (were not raked up-hard pan). The layout is challenging; moderate course condition; (they are on water restrictions); wide open fairways. Club link now owns the course.
andy
Greens quick and many slopes Fairways thin in spots
Good Value - Take a Cooler
I have played here 3 times previously but this was my first time playing the West course. The West course is the tougher of the 2 and I found it more enjoyable. The greens were in great shape and super quick. Overall, it was a good deal for the money. The only negatives were Mr. Grumpy behind the bar, no cart girl to be found until hole 17, and the lack of management oversight that lets the snowbirds from Canada run wild. Being a local I get that the in-season gets you through summer. There needs to be a better plan in place to deal with their migration this time of year. It was a controlled chaos from arrival to the first tee. We didn't even get a cart until it was our time on the tee box and that was because I told them we are supposed to be teeing off. Also, 1 cart girl covering 36 holes has to be addressed. The West course is across the road so you can't grab something at the turn. If these things can be corrected it would be 4 stars.
Good course, but slow play at this time of the year!
Good course,
Excellent good rolling greens!
But small and round...so difficult to stay on... you need a perfect shot!
Fairways miss more good grass!! But better than last year.
Challenging.
Pace of play.... not at this time of the year...Lot of beginners with no golf etiquette...
Enjoyed playing the course for the first time. The greens were great to putt on and the layout was good.
The only issue we had was that the cart girl only came around twice and the second time with no sandwiches.
I would recommend this course to anyone.
