Walk in the footsteps of pros at the Inverrary Country Club. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the golf courses at this club.
The legendary East Course is the signature course, where 15 PGA and LPGA tournaments were played including the Honda, the Jackie Gleason - Inverrary Classics, the Tournament Players Championship and the LPGA Phar-Mor Classic.
It is in excellent condition and is characterized by large, rolling greens, multiple tees, strategically placed bunkers, and lots of water. Its length from the championship tees is over 7100 yards.
The 7th hole is frequently mentioned as among the best par threes in Florida. Playing 199 yards from the back tee, it's all carry over water to a green that is angled in such a way as to look far smaller than it is in reality.

A classic course for the ages
Inverrary CC was the original location of the now Honda Classic (called the Jackie Gleason Inverrary Classic in 1972 the East Course). I remember watching TV as a kid back then when guys like Palmer, Nicklaus, Weiskopt, Watson, Trevino and Miller ruled the PGA Tour. Now you can play these courses for a good price with real good conditions. Inverrary has two 18 hole courses, East and West. The West is shorter around 6700 yds from the tips, the East around 7200 yds. I'm a low handicapper but playing the Championship tees was a bear, literary with prevailing winds at 25+ mph. There's a lot of history here and I highly recommend these courses for a good challenge no matter what course or what tee boxes you play from.
An excellent course for intermediate to advanced golfers
The course is visually very beautiful with water in play on almost every hole. The holes are well protected by bunkers and demands planning to keep your ball in play. If you are going to attack a green over water, it would be wise to take more club and aim for the back bunker. I'm sure all golfers would enjoy this venue.
Inverrary west may 2014
Greens and fairway's were excellent. Tee condition very poor , rough condition was spotty .
Good value at this time of year.
Inv West
Course is in pretty good shape with the exception of the very poor tee boxes which have little if any grass on them. Hard to get an even footing as well.
Fairways are poorly marked for distance, but the open fairways leave a lot of room for success and the tougher to read than usual greens are in pretty good shape.
Nice roll but you have to be on your game or it will roll through and past.
Cart paths leave a lot to be desired.
Over all a good experience. Would go again or try the East course.
A great golfing experience...
There is water in play on almost every hole. Planning is a must if you want to enjoy the game and not lose a lot of balls. There are several approach shots over water so, take enough club to carry the hazard. The greens were not too fast but, a good short game will be a must if you miss the green. Some greens have slopes that are cut tight and lead right into the water. I look forward to playing it again.
Course needs help
No rakes around the traps, really lame tee boxes, good greens and fairways for the most part. Was worth my $24 on golf now and that's it. Anymore $ and it would b a rip off. Friendly staff.
Good greens
Conditions are OK overall, but the greens are very nice, quick and smooth.
Go for the Greens
We played the East 18. The back nine is the more interesting layout. Fairways are OK, sand not so good, but the greens are really nice, much better than they were in the past couple of years. They match up with those of any course in the area. Definitely worth anything under $35 as far as fees.
Fun tract
Fun tract, interesting old school layout. Greens are fairly consistent, though are a bit rough in spots. Course conditions, especially tee boxes could be improved. Clubhouse and facilites are a little tired. But, a great value with a deal on GN.
Enjoyable course
We played at 2:30pm. There were others on the course but we played at our own pace in a bit less than 4 hours. The greens were excellent, fairways wide, but cut a bit thin. There are ample bunkers, some are huge, but if you hit it straight they seldom come into play. We had a very enjoyable time and the staff were all very nice.
Excellent Deal
We played this course at 10:38 m for 25 dollars. It may be one of the best deals that i have got over a year!
I found the course moderate challenging. The greens were fast, and not easy to read (break + speed). You better work your distances to attack the greens properly.
I used the Golflogix app, and the distances for par 3s differ with what was written. I followed Golflogix, and my club selection met the distances.
My foursome agreed to repeat the course.
Best round for the money!
This course lay out was very fair to my skills level. But I could also move to the back tee for more challenge. I really enjoy as well as my playing partners!
A nice time on a nice course
Best course around with the Golfnow and summer time rates in effect. My playing partner were impressed with the course condition, except for the bunkers which were a bit thin on sand and somewhat hard packed in places. The greens were fast but in really good condition as were the fairways and fringe areas. We will definitely be back this summer.
Great Course
Course very interssting to play. Not a monster.
Some water come to play in some holes.
Bon rapport qualité/prix
Verts très biens et rapides sans exagération.
Gazon des départs à améliorer.
Chemins des voiturettes à refaire car très cahoteux.
Gazon des allées à améliorer
Enjoyed our day.
Course conditions were good except a few of the sand traps were hard-packed dirt. The pace of play on the front 9 was good (under 2 hours) but it backed up a bit on 10. We joined another twosome which relieved the waiting a bit. The lounge was not fully operational when we were there - no food menu and no beer on tap (although bottled beer was available).
good course near my place
good condition, 5minutes of my place
ok for the price
Inverrary West
The West course is a good option when the East is busy. Fun layout in good condition.
