Babe Zaharias Golf Course

There is no off season in Florida. Conditions were just below average. No other way to say it.

Great course to play at and challenging only issues I have every time we go is the starters always overbook and as a result wants you to play with multiple people. If your a fan of discussing business and playing with strangers everytime then this is the course for you.

We really enjoy playing here and the course is on our regular rotation. This time was a little challenging as we played on the 4th of July which meant there were a lot of extra golfers who normally aren't there on a Monday - and they were duffers, which slowed up our play. But still it is always an enjoyable outing for us to play BZ. Rains are greening up the fairways, but greens were slow. Rough is taller than usual.

Ok, this is not a TPC course, but you aren't paying TPC green fees. The fairways were well kept and rolled well. For this price range, the greens were nicely kept. The rough was punishing, but not intentionally, it was just not well kept. It had been raining alot so maybe it was due to be mowed. That was my only real complaint on the day. The staff was.very nice. Pace of play was excellent, but it was a summer afternoon in FL, so no surprise that there was plenty of room. Again, for 20-25 dollars, it is a fun round and very easy to access from Tampa. I'll be back.

Very nice staff. Course is harder than you think due to certain doglegs. But very playable for 10-15 handicapper. I’d go back, and I’m sure it would be much better conditions when it cools off -pretty darn hot right now.

Nice hidden course in a neighborhood . Houses on all holes. Overall course was in average condition. Kinda tight fairways but not horrible. Pace of play was good until we caught a 4 some at 12. Took us 1 1/2 to play 12 then 1 1/2 to play the final 6. Not courses fault. Would play this course again if I was in the area. Price was also very affordable.

This is the worst I have ever seen this course.Every fairway has bald spots and weeds .The greens are terrible,one green(16)had holes 3 inches deep in it.Go somewhere else.I thought it was the best in the TSA group of 3 but not anymore.

Always have fun coming here. The staff is great. The fairways could use a little work. You have to try the burger!

Used to play here a lot, but haven’t in the last 10 years or so. Fairways were punched as of 5/30 and had huge sand/dirt areas in them with no grass, and a lot with very small amounts of grass. Didn’t look like they had been watered. Greens were in good shape. It’s a muni, so I’m not expecting Augusta quality, but this is the worst I have seen it, ever. I’d spend a little more and play one of the other courses in the are that is not burnt to a crisp and has grass in the fairways.

We play this course every couple of months and like it. They started aerating the fairways during our play but it only affected the first hole (for us). We will keep playing here. Good value.

Few fairways that are nice big and open, but the greens are where the fun begins.

The putting surface was , on most holes, very poor. Bald spots, dead grass spots. And some areas of mostly sand.

I’ve been playing at The Babe for over 30 years. I can say with confidence that the course is playing as good as it ever played. Fun course - enjoy yourself.
